Benefits of a Recirculating DWC

Hey guys, currently have 4 ladies goin in 5 gallon buckets, thinking of transplanting one into a 13 gallon cooler.Gonna let those roots stretch and realy bush this bitch, after all bigger roots bigger plant.
just wondering if i should setup a rdwc cooler, or should i just manualy change the res,
just looking for any benefits of a rdwc,
also thinkin of seting up rdwc for my other 3 5 gallon buckets

I want to convert mine to RDWC like a Waterfarm.
More dissolved oxygen created with the drip rings PLUS there's still an air stone bubbling down below.
Just buy the GH Waterfarm spare drip ring parts for about $17.

Check Scottyballs 10oz and 14oz WF harvest.
Although I also believe I can get his yields if I SCROG again, like he did to get those yields.

Same here Flo I was looking into Water Farm but I also have to buy a water chiller so it gets expensive. But man I'm tired of doing manual "drain to waste" reservoir changes.

Theres only 1 I can think of and thats: If one plant gets a disease there is a good chance all the plants will get the same disease since they all share the same water.

i am planning on building a custom water farm style system with some key changes and would like others input as to the effectiveness of the alterations. one of the big things i want to try is oxygenating the water in the res and not in the root container. One of the questions this brings up in the number of plant located on the tube between re-oxygenations. basically i would spray, aerate, and splash the hell out of the water while in the res then allow it to gently flow through the system over the roots with out disturbing them.

the other thing i would like to do is make a 2 section res with a filter to ensure that every part of water passing through the system has been re-oxygenated before recirculating.

I think that to a certain point the only way to add more oxygen to the water would be to make it colder. As long as you're moving around it should be oxygenated enough to make all that jazz in the res unnecessary.

The problem with that, is while DWC is a basic concept, [plant/water/air] the R is a variable. There isn't a standard way of recirculating, so different setups might have different drawbacks. They all need some way to move the nutrients around, so you're adding a reservoir and pump with the potential for leaks, that's the main issue. You have to be able to work with moving water safely in an electrically powered environment. That is extremely important, water and electricity do not play well together. If you have no clue about plumbing ask a LOT of questions before you build a system.

Other than that, the only problem inherent to working with the RDWC or DWC over any other style is that in the case of a power outage, plants will either drown or the roots will dry out depending on how you circulate your solution.

Recirculating can be safety assured if the return from the buckets to the workin rez has a uv filter inserted in the tubing coming from the plants.

Don't try it buddy you want the oxygen tickling the roots right there okay? Of course gases stay soluble at lower temps better but that's not the consideration. You may think changing stuff won't make a difference but for sure it willand if you are willing to notice it cool, and that for sure will sort things out.
 
great input guys, unfortunately I am still stuck, cant decide,i want to just rig a 15 gallon cooler, attach some chains and hoists, and when i res change just pull that wholeplant up from the pulleysystem ,clean cooler, change nutes, simple, i also wonder about frozen 20 oz bottles in a 5 gallon bucket bloccking bubbles to the roots, any thoughts?

Why do you want to lift and clean during growth? For draining, lots of coolers have drain plugs, you can figure a way to use that.
