Beneficial Plants to plant around Marijuana???

okay so im preparing for my grow outdoor next year. my major concern about outdoor is the inevitable problem of pests and animals.

I got the animals down, but the pests are what worry me ALOT!!.

I was wondering if you can buy Chrysenthemum flowers at a local garden store (the natural insecticide plant). is it safe to plant around MJ if i aquire some? if so how far away should they be to ensure pests wont be around?? will they even deter pests??

is there any other RELIABLE methods of keeping pests away from crop.

Im gonna be spraying beneficial bugs such as nematodes, all around and over my plants.

But i dont want to just KILL the problem...I want to prevent it in the first place!!

Any good tips outdoor growers on how you keep bugs away from your crop??!?!

for animals im gonna be using 4 measures to keep them away.!!
(dont laugh im serious about all methods)

1. Im gonna piss in bottles at my house, when i check my plants im gonna pour the piss all around the area.

2. Im gonna throw Human hair shavings, and possiblely dog hair shavings, all around my spot (how long should i replace the hair, how long does it give off our smell to animals?)

3. scatter cat litter at a further radius then the 2 above methods, a decent distance from my plants. id say like 10-20feet radius.

4. the good ole' fence.

Any insight into the bugs or any advice on my method of keeping animals away would be GREATLY appreciated.

Bugs are my biggest concern though, cause i dont want to be smoking tiny little parasites with my weed.

Thanks in advance- Rhino

i am interested if anyone has any advice for the bugs but if i were you man i would just buy some coyote pee. its not very expensive and it scares away most any animal. that would be a lot easier than the methods you were talking about....but to each his own.

Coyote pee? Give me a break with that shit.

@Rhino1111

You will never get rid of all insects. The best you can do is look for a way to keep them in check.

every season, before I plant in-ground, I hit up my buddy's salon for hair clippings....which I put out at the start of each season and that's it. works well- no deer/rabbit problems, etc.

If I have to piss when im out there, then I pee around my crop...I don't walk backwards around the perimeter with my dick out pissing lol, but I just pee right near the plants (but not close enough for my urine to reach the roots). I've never made an effort to save urine and bring it out to my site, fuck that, not necessary...the hair method works well enough for me

my only other real problem has been slugs...they can DEVASTATE your crop given the right rainy conditions...last season I put copper pennies around the stalks of each plant, which didn't deter them at all

next season I'll be doing the "cup of beer buried to the rim" trick...and hopefully some other preventative measures for slug control

okay so im thinking neem oil spray weekly or bi weekly and nematodes once per month?? or do i only need to spray nematodes once?

any ideas about that chrystanemum (or waetva) flower that like raid uses to make insect killer? is it possible to buy those plants? if so would it be safe to plant around? im pretty sure those 2 methods and if i can get those flowers would make an ideal control. and ofcourse if shit gets out of hand theres always preythrins spray.

Just an FYI, coyote urine IS a critter repellant and can be bought from most hunting stores. How well it works is another issue as I've never used it or grown outdoors.

Someone I know uses coyote pee for her vegetable garden and says it must be working because he plants never get eaten.

U can buy it in ready to use squirt bottles online for like 25$.

Just leave the bottle in the woods with the other tools.

it DOES deter critters...however it's a very costly marketing ploy and your own piss is just as effective;)

Your over thinking this. Watch your plants and tend to them as needed. If you can check on them alot you can stop any infestation. As for a preventative, BT spray is essential at the end of July through a few weeks before flowering. It really will help get rid of any budworms. Pyrethrins are made from the seed cases of chrysanthemums. The plant itself doesnt have the same effect.

most hunting stores sell coyote pee as a masking agent. to hide human sent. it does not bother deer and i shot one lst yr hunting in a field next to a deer eating they didnt even care. best thing for deer rabbits is a spray bottle put in one egg white and water let it sit tell it spoils. shake it every day. it will turn brown and smell like vomit. spray the hole area around your plants. i found th only way the animals get my plants is if i plant before the native plants and grasses start growing if you wait that xtra week it helps. slugs are easy just go buy slug bait and spread it all over your area. i do it in june and again when buding starts. i do not spread it near my plants roots. hot pepper dust works to.

urine is a good fert high in N but not in good balance with PK, P is especially low. when urine is used as a fert it should ALWAYS be diluted with water atleast 1/2-1/2. you will need to find things with high PK to add with you fert program though.

as for the bug situation this is what im thinking...

Neem oil spray every month and BT during budworm season??

and id use something like organocide for any other infestations...

You could coat the leaves of a clone in Einstein Oil leaf shine and spray it with organicide while it's still inside, then go plant it outside. That's just an idea though, I've never done this before.
