I havE a super tall sativa in its 1st week bloom that's a few weeks away from being too tall my room and light . Is it possible to just tie it to the she from the top little by little each say till I can get the main stalk to grow somewhat horizontal ?
What should I do ?

you can do that if you want
i would do that now before it starts to flower too much

i bent this one at about 4 weeks 12/12 so it was more inline with the other colas
the main head is the largest cola to the far right, which if left alone would be in the center of the picture
you can bend it fully horizontally if you need to

Yes you can, obviously try not to bend too much so as not to break the stem, do it gradually as you said, that's how I do it all the time.

Google for "LST low-stress training." Instead tying you can apply firm pressure pinching and bending a branch/stalk. It takes some time to develop a feel for it.

You'll snap one occasionally. When you do, have some electrical tape handy and just tape the broken area. It will bounce back quickly. It's funny that the more stressed/broken branches seem to turn into the largest producers. On my current grow I snapped one where it was holding by just a small piece of skin. Thought it was a waste of time to tape it. Expected the movement of taping to tear the remaining connection. That break turned into a massive knuckle and now the cola is the largest one.

If you want to explore that topic, google for "supercropping." Intentional mangling. I'm not into it. But, there's definitely something to it. So, my point is, don't be afraid to LST. When you get used to it, you'll just reach into the canopy and bend things around without thinking about it much. The occasional "snap" is part of learning and ends up turning out really well. Nothing to fear.

thanks mate
was a big plant very mango haze dom
i had to bend it allover the place to control the size of it,
i had 3 x 600 watts on it at one stage but was able to bend it round so it only needed 2x 600w to finish off took 14 weeks 12/12

Would it be cool if i could just bend my plant stalk some everyday? Or would i have to tie the banch somewhere to bend it enoiugh?

What do you do??

you can tie them or snap them in place
i prefer to tie them in place

some plants are more bendy than others less woody and you can bend them into place without them snapping
some folk like to deliberately snap them, they call this super cropping
sometimes i snap the lower branches at the knuckle a little this makes them hang down and out horizontally

if you lightly bend them, they will just return to their orignal position pretty quickly
tie them into whatever position you want or read up on super cropping before you start snapping them

If you search Youtube for "supercropping" and watch a couple of the tutorials there, you might be surprised at how much punishment plants are subjected to and fully recover from. I was! You can also check out "LST" as a less aggressive form of training (Low Stress Training). Really interesting shit!

That was angel heart from MNS (mango haze x nordle) grown hydro NFT

not sure how common that size plant would be, i had one other large haze type pheno
all the other angel heart phenos were more regular size plants and expressed some of the indica in the cross

you might be better off going for the parent mango haze to find big plants like that
although those mango haze seeds are not cheap twice the price of angelheart

Thanks a lot for replying and for the info.

Upon seeing your monster buds, I immediately started searching for Mango Haze seeds and came across them quite easily. I'm not put off by the price, but as someone who's never grown and is literally just starting to look into setting up their first ever room, it is quite a cold shower when a strain is recommended for advanced/experienced growers. However, once I've got a few runs under my belt, that's a strain that's unlikely to escape my attentions! Holy smoke!!!

yeh, its not the best strain to start with as it can have long flowering times, and very big plants
that need a lot of tying up etc

you can get big plants from the skunk1 / cheese crosses which are quicker and easy to grow

if you just starting, grow something simple Northern lights x skunk1 or blue cheese

northern lights crossed to just about anything sativa dom is a good start, should give vigorous plants of various sizes
split between indica/sativa dom in shape but all should have good resin be easy to grow finish in 8-10 weeks

Your advice is noted and much appreciated.

I'm still a way off right now, but I have a plan that's been forming and is developing. This place is a gold mine for information on every aspect! Keep getting into learning about different elements, all of which will be much needed knowledge when the time comes. The only problem is, I'm on a fairly structured timeframe of being unable to set up as fast as I'd like (geography/location issues and living arrangements) and the anxiety of knowing I still have to wait so long is a killer!!! Still, hopefully I can turn that to my advantage in trying to become relatively informed for a virgin grower. Reading about other peoples' experiences and seeing some of your results is also very enjoyable.
