If you dont feel like reading all of it please skip to the bottom.

I germinated Arjans ultra haze #2 1
purple lady and 2 Violator Kush, all feminized. The purple lady's taproot was abt a centimeter and a half long and half the seed shell fell off, i hope that wont hurt it? Both vicious kush seeds sprouted small taproots and one of the arjans did, but i just threw the other ungerminated seeds in the soil to let it do them the old natural way.

Anyways, let me start by my soil. Ive read a good few or post on here and i know miracle grow is bad, but those seeds needed to be planted. So i went to Lowes and bought Miracle Grow Seed Starting Mix, and some Perlite made by miracele grow. It was all i could find soil wise, no scotts for some reason :[

I mixed about 30-40 % perlite into small pots and planted the seeds a half inch down, and sprayed some water to get the top of it moist. I then put it in my window sill since by lamp wasnt assembled yet, and it was almost dusk outside so it didn't get much light until the next morning. I hope the moisture and the long night in the dark would not cause it to rot!

So today i went and got a timer and extension cord surge protector etc and hooked up my 600w mh/hps combo. I put the Metal Halide bulb in to try to sprout the seedlings, is this the best? Its about a foot away maybe a foot and ahalf away from the pots, should it be closer?

MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION:

So i just got my babies under my 600w metal hallide at 11:00 PM exactly. How many hours shoudl i leave the light on when trying to sprout? Should i let it run all night until i get up for school tomorrow at 9:30am since they havent had much light?

Thankyou

mircale grow is great for vegging. if your in veg stage it doesent matter when you turn the lights on just set your timer and let it go. plants should have a 24 hour dark ness period when you decide to change your lights and timing. nicesetup good luck.

This is what I do while sprouting. I cover the container with saran wrap or a dome to ensure alot of humidity and set it near a window. I dont worry about light time yet. Once they sprout and are a few days old, i bring them the light :) 18/6 all the way! and I put it about 2 feet away during this fragile stage.

you can let light run 24/0 untill u want to flower if u choose or run 18/6 if u like. which ever fits you. as for you light i dont have experence with but a foot seems sufisiont. just feel for close to plants for heat. as for rot i doubt it. seedligs dont need light untile leaf growth start. they will sprout with out light. though light will help photosinthasis get under way. when u transplant get a lighter soil, mg has those time relise capsise witch make it impossible to regulate feeding an a possabilty for burnin. i have used an doesnt seem deadly

I just gave you an answer on your other thread

Thanks man, sorry for making double post!

Another ?

Im prob gonna let it run 18 hrs then 6 hrs darkness, when should i spray the soil with more water? When its completely dried up? Or Should i just let it try to sprout on its own.

Yea spray lol, i read that you just mist the top inches of the soil to be moist when trying to sprout seeds. Should i just be dumping the water right in there?
