You know your tent better than I do. You will be able to decide what they need. Try to keep their temps at 77, their RH at 40% and make sure the air moves. While they are this young, the fan blower on them will hurt them, but having it in the room is not a bad thing at all.

Thanks man

I am kinda having thoughts on over/under watering now that you said that...

Is there a way to tell when to water? im just giving them a little bit (until a tiny bit comes out the bottom) day and night.

Should the soil be dry to the touch before i water them next?

It is common for new growers to think they need water every day. In some cases, with a low RH, and/or high heat, it is very possible to need to water every day. It is not common tho. It is common for new growers to "think" they need water every day. They need air too. That is the #1 mistake for new growers. They suffocate their plants by giving them too much water and then lead to root-rot, or gnats. Make sure they are light and ready for water.

The best advice I can give you is this:

When you water, water them until run-off appears. Pick up the pot with your hand. It will feel heavy (like a bucket of mud). That is your "wet" weight to keep in mind. When the pot feels light (you will know what i mean) give them a drink and NOT before. You will get to know very quickly if they need drink of not with this implementation.

Thanks.

Yea I actually know what you mean now. I picked them up this morning and they were super light so i think im getting the hang of it. Also does it matter if im using tap water/is it better to use other water?

I make sure the tapwater is at 6.something pH but i hear people discussing tapwater vs distilled vs spring/drinking water. what are your thoughts?

I knew you would figure it out from picking them up. ;)

I would suggest leaving it sitting out over night. If there is any chlorine, it will evaporate over night. IF your water doesn't suck, go ahead and use it. I have in-line RO RV filters for my water, and I keep it in a 35 gal bucket with an air stone. I fire up the stone a few hours before I use it just to kick up the O2 for the girls. This is what my setup looks like:

very nice my friend!

Thanks and i will keep updates going. they are looking great on there 2nd pair tiny growth of third set is already coming up.

When should i start with the nutes? And when should i transplant? I have a feeling they can stay in those 1 quart buckets for a while...

Thanks bro! The submersible pump with a water wand is my best friend! :)

Don't be in a rush to give them nutes. They are young and don't need much but what is in the soil. Transplant when they fill their pots. What happens above, is true below. If you were turn your plant upside down, would the plant itself fill the pot? If yes, transplant, if no, wait. This will give you a good base to work from when figuring if you need to transplant. I start in solo cups, then the 1 quart (or 1.5 i can't remember), and finally into 3 gallon pots. I always figure on 1 gallon = 1 month of life. Our plants a rarely alive for more than 3 months, so I tuned back my pots and only run 3 gal. for the final pot.

Keep the updates coming.

Alright, so DAY 10

I totally changed my setup, (i will post pics later, so work with me trying to explain this lol) I now have a duct pulling directly from the ac into a blower into a double extension. One duct going thru the aircooled hood and one duct going directly into the tent.

I got a new thermometer/humidity controller.

I took the 20" fan out of the room and have a 6 inch fan blowing for airflow, which is amazing, when i zipup the tent it creates a pushing effect for the out duct.

So now im running perfect 74 degrees constant (could easily go higher or lower what are your thoughts?) with lots of airflow/movement.

My problem is that im running like 58-60% humidity...

What can i do to change that?

Besides that everything is going great, im real happy about the new air/ac input.

Pictures coming later, please dont hesitate to give me any input.

It is still winter. Pretty soon you will be playing the game of "How low can I get the temp down to today?" during the summer months.

The pushing effect is coming from the blower. Put the blower on the other side of things and have it draw the air instead of blow. Change Mega-Maid from blow to suck. :)

is the pushing effect bad? because honestly thats whats keeping such great airflow going and is pulling so much from the ac and back out the OUT duct. It doesnt seem like a problem, unless i dont know something. please let me know your thoughts.

And back to the humidity issue?

What can i do to lower it?

The blowing won't be an issue until about week 5 of flower or so, then it will be a stink issue. Changing it from a from a blow-thru to a draw-thru will only improve your airflow. I guess I am curious if you even need to use the AC. Also, what is the source of fresh air?

If you get this airflow sorted, the AC air should be dry enough to lower the RH.

I have a carbon filter waiting for that time :-)

Also i dont mean to sound naive but what do you mean source of fresh air?

I have the duct pulling AC air directly into the room.

So im guessing if you mean like an air source from outside?? then i dont have one...

Your carbon filter still needs and inline fan to run it that should also be drawing air (not blowing) through it. The carbon filter only works when the fan is running, if your other fan is blowing the air out of the tent before it gets scrubbed, your whole area will stink like a fuck.

Outside air contains CO2. You need that stuff. ;) Your garden will be happy at 77 degrees, 55% RH for veg and 45% RH for flower. You may be able to just get it an outside vent (ducted in) and be fine with that. Hard to say.

ahh shit..

so change it from blowing to pulling.

And will that really hurt them if i dont have an in coming from outside? The ac air doesnt have CO2 in it? Thats really already kicking my ocd in. Fuck...

I will post some pictures in a second so you can see better whats going on...

LOL You are too funny bro.

Yes, suck, not blow. Inline fans are much more efficient when they are drawing air. This also keeps the heat from the motor from entering the growing area (it matters during the summer months especially). Don't just flip the fan around, you have to put the fan on the other side of the tent so it draws the air from one side of the tent to the other.

You would have to get a meter to read the CO2 levels to know for sure if the AC is giving it CO2. I doubt it does. If getting an outside vent is not possible, you can always add a CO2 generator and/or some of the CO2 yeast bags. I have a buddy that says the bags work good tho I have never tried them and always thought them to be a waste of money. You can just make them yourself with yeast.

No need to freak out yet, they are still small. When they get bigger and are consuming more CO2, then you will notice the difference without it.

Im going to get some of those bags my store is having a sale on them and i have a friend who uses them with great results.

Try to avoid kinks in the duct, it greatly reduces their effectiveness. Keep it running as straight as possible. Gotta play it by ear. This works for now, but may not in July.

yea i know its a bitch keeping the ducting straight. im going to shorten it when i reposition everything.

But back to the humidity? How would i lower that?

Thanks for the input bro.

(My vacuum chamber arrives tomorrow i cant wait to make some honeycomb... :-) will post pictures after)

Alright guys!

Sorry for the long wait on an update.

I got spooked and moved the Tent to a different place.

Its now sucking air not blowing. lol and they are looking great.

The day after I took these pics, I topped two of the plants. the middle one didn't seam like its ready yet.

I started giving them nutes yesterday.
2tbs big bloom
2tsb grow big
1/4tsb calmag

They seem to be loving it the LA woman is exploding.

And as far as the Vacuum tank for the BHO. It turned out SO LEGIT. I guess those hours learning on youtube helped for once. I wanted to go all the way so i made some earwax. this shit i literally cant get a small enough dab without getting super high. :-)

Any tips/constructive criticism please don't be shy.

Thanks guys
