Bananas to cure potassium deficiency?

So I have 4 plants that are currently in a MiracleGro potting soil, and the leaf tips are "burned". The cotelydon leaves on the seedlings (3/4) have mostly changed to a rusty yellow color and have curled and dried to a crisp. Jorge Cervantes' diagrams that are in his cannabis book pointed out the problem, but what I wanna know is if I can place mooshed bananas into the soil when I transplant, so i can fix the problem. I would rather go the organic route, because every time I play with chemicals, I tend to off the plants. I'd rather go the organic route, with the addition of an organic molasses for flowering. Would bananas work to cure the problem?

1. fuck jorge 2. you may be experiencing nutrient burn or ph lockout instead of a potassium deficiancy, plants do not need much k when vegging, or are you in floweR? imagining u saying cotlydons means to me ur vegging anyways, although they may need potassium when vegging i dont beleive they need any excessive amount. u may have just burned them, can you post a picture? 3. im not sure if you can properly feed the potassium in banana peels without letting them decompose first and lose much of their base/acidic properties, like become all mushy and organic again u know, i think it needs to be broken down before it can be used by the plant. not sure on this though someone else may be able to lend a helping hand, good luck

It could be a ph lockout, but I do not think its nutrient burn because I havent used any nutrient solution yet. Right now I'm about 2 days shy of week 2, and the problem started around week 1. I thought maybe it could be the soil, but wouldnt the yellowing occur around week 1 as well?

I would also like to test the ph of the soil, and it would reveal everything, but right now I'm trying to find my meter that was buried away in the move.

I will have to agree that it sounds like you are experiencing toxic nutrient buildup in the soil. An easy way to tell if this is the case is to water plants with nutrient solution with a given EC or ppm strength. Catch some of the drain water after watering and measure it. if the EC or ppm is higher than the input solution, there is a buildup of nutrients in the soil. Oh

YOu will notice that the solution to many problems is to leach the soil with water to wash out the built up nutrients. Do this and wait a week or so to see how it works.

Oh yes, aknight3 must be talking about another jorge!

What kind of miracle grow soil are you using? If its the slow release soil that already has nutrients in it then you may be overfeeding your plants which would case the tips to burn. I believe in the first two weeks of life the plant does not need any extra nutrients but I could be wrong on this.
