Banana Peels Good for the Plants?

I was thinking about putting some bananas in with the soil and i was wondering if it would have any benefits and how to actually apply it and if it would give pests something to feed on? it just seems like when you throw them in the trash they seem to attract gnats....

An easy way to avoid worrying about gnats and other pests with the banana peels is to put them in a blender with a bit of water and liquidify this mixture. Pour this mixture around the plant then lightly mix the soil up on the surface. Doing this will help the banana to breakdown faster making it more available to plant quicker.
Hope this helps, Happy Growing

Put your bananas on a compost heap - let them rot for a year.
Listen to this. Pot plants will not suck up banana taste goodness, and the odds of you creating a pest issue are greater than any added benefit in the form of feeding the soil microbes (assuming you chopped the bananas up really fine). Just use a decent full-spectrum fertilizer. If you want go all organic with your own soil and composting, prepare for that now for next year's grow.
