the soil is miracle-gro potting mix and its 0.14-0.14-0.14

the brown leaves are from the old soil that i used i think it was expired cause the plant was not growing at all, do you think it would hurt it in the long run? its really liking the new soil. the plant is about a month old. any suggestions would be awesome

(sorry for the craps pics i try to get better ones)

nice art work on the outside.
Ghetto grows are my favorite.
Your sprouts look burnt to me on the leave edges. This could be a result of Miracle Grow soil or the lights being to close. Just my opinion and from observing your pictures. Good luck with your grow!

Peace and Positive energy to you.

Hey good job on the set up. Gotta tell you, I had the MG potting mix in the begining of my grow and through research I found out that it was no good because it feedsyour plants for months which doesn't allow you to feed them yourself. Also i've heard of all the nutes dispensing at once and burning the shit out of plants. I swapped min out for some MG seed starting soil. It's got a liitle bit of immediate release nutes in it and you can feed on your own after a couple weeks. Just a thought. Other than that man I dig the closet, especially the naked pirate chick drawn on it, lol. Good luck with the grow buddy.

I do completely agree with this, I'm just suggesting the MG seed starting soil because it's 4 bucks for 8 qts and it's a nice premixed soil but, it isn't organic which i didn't care too much about as this is my first grow too and i just wanted to see if I could see it all the way through before i go and spend tons of money on it.

am not to worried about being organic I just want to see if i could do this, thinking i will go look for soil tomorrow. what should i be looking for in soil?

theres a lot of shit to look into for soil. You want it to drain well, be airy enough to give your roots some oxygen, and you definitely don't want it to have ANY TIME RELEASE NUTRIENTS AT ALL!!! So if it says " Feeds your plants for up to X amount of months or weeks" don't buy it.

This is what I got http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3685748&CAWELAID=366055989

but don't order it online. Get it at Home Depot for like 4 or 5 bucks if you choose to go this way. If not you can always go get fox farm:

but, you're gonna spend a bit more.
Keep checking out the posts here there are a lot of people way more knowledgeable than me and they've already written all this stuff somewhere else.
