So I got a couple hundred pounds of 5 year old compost, big bin its been turned regularly, i got it from some friends who just moved to texas. The thing is they are raw foodists who juice wheatgrass 2 times daily. they compost everything, so this bin has a wealth of amazing stuff, it smells so good, how much would you guys use to brew tea from it? i threw in a few handfuls into a 1000cc cylinder. and pumping 17lpr air into it. So excited to try this stuff!

Great having that stuff, no the question is how strong is it? Meaning what is the N content. I don't make alot of teas from my compost but do use manures which are great. I would do just what you are doing and start with a little mix and build up the content from week to week until you reach the max for the plant. Just a rule of thumb when doing this always give your plants about a week to show the affects of the tea. If you are too hot on the mixture the burn will usually show up in a matter of hours to a day, but the build up on N in the plant will take longer if not in excess, if that makes sense to you. If you are lucky enough to have a spare plant or even some veggies going you can try your dosage out on them before trying on your $$$$ crop.
Good Luck and I believe you will love the results.
