bad drooping/curling

i've been looking around and can't really find anything about what is going on with my plant. i'm pretty sure it's due to soil and/or nute deficiency but i'm not sure.

i am using 2 2700k cfls and 2 smaller ones(i forget the lumens) with a fan going with them. it's on 18/6 light, 31 days into veg today. i've used a nute once 30/10/10 and that was about a week and a half ago.

yesterday to get rid of all the fungus flies (there were probably about 50 of them) i used orange oil distilled and let it sit for ~15 min then flushed the plant. that got rid of all the flies (and their eggs hopefully) and when i got back from work last night she was drooping reallll bad. when i got up this morning it didn't look as bad as last night but it's still kinda bad. should i just give it time or do i need to add more nutes when the soil dries? thanks for your help!

Just looks wet from the flushing. You made it rain as Riddle would say. When the medium dries and its ready for watering again I would give it another light feeding.

ok so yesterday it seemed like she was making a nice come back but when i got up this morning and checked she looked horrible. the soil is still wet, i haven't watered it yet, so i don't know what's going on now. will she be able to survive this?!?!

take a small screw drive and LIGHLTY mix up the top of the soil and slowly get deeper until the soil is a really nice loose feeling.
it will air out and dry better

What is your PH at? I had a similar problem and my PH was below 5. As soon as I got it up around 6.8 my plants bounced back. I don't know about the drooping though. How often are you watering your plants? And what kind of water are you useing. I have pictures of my first grow in my signature so you can look at the first pictures and see the same stuff on my seedlings.

i'm not sure what my ph is at. i don't have a ph reader or anything. i'm probably going to run to lowes and get one actually. i haven't watered them in a while. if you take a look at the first post in this thread it explains what has gone on the past couple of days. i'm using tap water but i let it sit out at least 24 hours before i use it on the plant.

PH is very important! I use distilled water on my babies now and they love it. I even have to PH up the distilled water just a drop though. I will never neglect my PH again seeing how almost killed my whole crop. Also FFOF soil is supposed to self regulate the PH but I wouldn't trust that completely. If I were you I would find out what your ph is on your water first then go from there. You want a ph of 6.8-7 for soil grows.

Great point! Always cultivate the top soil in your pots to prevent compaction and sitting moisture. I'd use a plastic fork though until you get feeling for it so you don't damage roots.

alrighty looks like i'm going to get a ph reader. how much do those usually run? also, what's a good soil alternative to FFOF? i'm not sure i want to get into fox farm yet as this is my first grow. should i go ahead and plant it in some new soil and see if it perks up?

@serapis i already used the small screwdriver and the soil was VERY compacted. i hope that helped a lot. i will use a fork next time though

Get a seed starting soil. They are organic and have little to no food in them. Do not transplant if plant is currently possibly in shock.

:) It's ok on the screwdriver if you are careful. Next time add some Perlite to your soil to prevent compaction.

seed starting soil for the next plant i try? or add it to the current soil? ok i won't transplant, would i be able to take a clone from this guy if it does keep going for the worse? i think it might be too late for that though.

I got my ph reader for like 10.00, just a liquid one but I am going to go get a better one here soon. For now a cheap one will do fine. I went with fox farms after I had so many problems with other soils that tried to mimic FFOF. It is only 13 bucks a bag where I am at so I think it is well worth the money. I also wouldn't transplant it while she is so stressed! Unless you think the problem may be that it is root bound. Do you know if it is root bound?

I just put three of my sprouts right into FFOF just as a test to see if it was too "hot" for them and they are fine! But a good seedling soil is best for little ones cus they don't need any nutes.

damn i thought fox farms would be more expensive for some reason. yeah, i won't transplant right now. i don't believe the problem is root bound, i just think it took on too much water when i flushed it. hell i don't even know if this is a female yet so this might just be pointless other than a good test run. for my next grow i plan on getting some good seeds from nirvana, probably northern lights and make a grow box. what yield are you looking to get for each of your plants?

I know it sucks cus I have been there but like you said this may just be a learning experiance. Just be damn happy that your plant isn't 3 feet tall 7 weeks into flowering and having a problem you can't solve! I would recomend Nirvana! I have had three shipments get to me within a week, and I have 100% germanation rate and you can see that my plants are healthy. Oh and I bought feminized seeds and all are female! Can't beat that, I had more plants but I had to get rid of them, I grew extra plants just in case I had problems or if I had some that weren't females. I would trust Nirvana they have good prices too. But anyway I am hopeing for 1.5 - 2 oz's per plant dry. Maybe I have my sights set a little high but that is what I am hopeing.

yeah it is a good learning experience. damn i take it that happened to you, that's a tough way to go out. awesome i will definitely go through nirvana then. looks like your plants are doing awesome. that's a nice yield per plant. i bet you'll be able to get that.

Yeah as long as you learn from this then it will not be a loss. If you check out where I had problems first in my grow my girls bounced back so there may still be hope for your lil one. I would recomend using distilled water though bro and PH that shit too! Distilled water is less than a dollar a gallon so it's not going to break the bank. Just my noob suggestion. Oh and check out this site to find a FF dealer in your area. Just call them and ask them how much a bag of it is. I am up in Wa state and the hydro shop that I go to has GREAT prices on their stuff. I can't beat their prices even on the net! So here is the FF store locater site.
