LionsRoor youve pulled of another impressive grow, looking forward to the chopper happening lol. the madi are really nice plants, love the structure. are they going to need support?
well you get through your troubles n i just found spider mites on my set up...:( oh well i plan on being proactive and overcoming them also. im putting my LionsRoor cape on n plan on being a super hero lol, ill leave no leaf unturned... peace
Thanks!

Madagascar is nice, huh? It's got the 'classic' weed look to me. These Madi didn't really get the light they deserved this cycle, but they are still growing very well. Under powerful light, she really takes off! Yes - the Madi need support, I've stuck some bamboo stakes in the corners to help hold them up for now. Once I move out the OG, and move the Madi under the lights, I will support them from above too.

NO! How did those damn mites find you! :-) I know you caught 'em early, so you got the leg up on em. What day are you on those girls? I never was able to find the MightyWash, Hellraiser noted. I have it on order. I did some reading on it, and I'm not exactly excited to have to use it, but I am interested to see it work first hand! Damn those things. I know you will control them one way or another.

This Pornstar is just minutes away from being harvested. OG Kush at Day 57.

Damn! Sorry to keep ya waitin'! I got so busy with harvest, work, life, and everything... but I am happy to say it went great! Both the Skywalker and Pornstar finished beautifully... the chop went great, the stuff dried evenly over 10 days, and it is some of the best OG I have grown. When the trichromes settled, it was 1300 grams on the nose; just short of 3 pounds of grade AAA OG. I also finished with 400 grams of super hi quality trim/popcorn which will yield close to 20% when turned to oil. I will get some finished OG shots shortly...

Here are a few pics of the OG chop at Day 57, and the Madagascar at 46 days.

The four 600 watt lights produced just under 3 pounds of fine OG medicine.

Harvesting OG is fun -- for the first hour -- and then you're back to farming; it's a lot like work!

I prefer the buds just below the main cola. They aren't as big but they have the best flavor.

The Madagascar are 58 days in and will come down at 62 days. They are enjoying the entire room to themselves for their final 14 days.

The Madagascar is seen here at 46 days. Once the trays are cleared, the Madi will finish up where the OG was.

I have more harvest and Madagascar images. I will get more images and updates in the next post.

looks great bro :) you gunna recycle the soil or just start completely new?
Hey Myles. Thanks!

I will start with fresh media for the next run in the room. I was able to 'recycle' much of this old dirt around the yard in beds and potted plants.

Thanks! I too have been breathing a sigh of relief after getting through this one - thanks for the moral support along the way. Me happy.

Yes - the Madi are bumpin right now. I'll get some pictures up tonight. Their harvest day is coming up soon.

Speaking of obstacles - how are you doin' with those mites? I'll pop over to your journal and see how things are going.

Madagascar at 58 days.

The Madagascar is getting close. It's been fun taking care of so few plants in such a big area... No leaves are touching! I can't remember the last time I could say that about a batch of plants? Watering and maintenance has been pretty easy... there have been leaves here and there with a speck of PM, but nothing to be concerned. The mites did make their way to one or two Madagascar plants, but only to a couple leaves. Manual removal will surely suffice to get through. I didn't support them very well early on as there was not alot of room for the bamboo stakes, but every bud is well finished. There is NO popcorn/or larf on the Madi.

Madagascar has a great look.

The Madi gets nicely frosted and utilizes all colors of the rainbow to impress!

There are no loose, lite, buds on the Madagascar. Nuggets at the bottom of the plant are well finished too.

LR i really like the madis structure n it looks like small pine cones for buds lol. is the finish product hard like og nugs? do you think the weight would improve if they were lavished with light or is ir more a conisour type plant? thinking i might see how to whittle out a inch or two soon to try one out. whose genetics do you use?

edit oh n the mites seem to be under controll for the time being, but you know how them sobs are lol

Yeah - the Madagascar produces big, rock hard buds. This is a big yield, commercial type strain. As usual - more light is better! Under a 1000 watt light, and proper plant support (tomato cages or trellis), the Madi will produce 2+ pounds (that's the most I've managed to produce, but the guy I got it from routinely gets 2.5 per 1000). The problem with the Madi is she has that pine cone taste too - it has that Hazy, SnoCap type of taste. Many people love it, but I am not a fan.

What do you think these 8 plants will yield? I don't think I will hit an LB - but it will be close... I'd be surprised to end up with less than 350g from these 8 - though several of them are well over 56g each.... we'll see!

I am currently settled into 3 strains. Each was acquired through a different source. All are clone-only strains... It took some time to get the 3 strains I have - lots of testing, begging, working, cash, etc. I've had the Pornstar for about 7 years now (a gift from my mentor - thanx bro). It's the OG, Jason King refers to in his Cannabible - the 20K cut! It took another 6 years to find anything as good... and then came the Skywalker. My commercial buddy paid 5K for the Madagascar (again, this is a fantastic commercial strain), and accidentally got the SW too! Score - as the source would not sell the SW at any price (frickin hoarders!) OG and Madi look the same in veg and 2 weeks or so into flower (the Madi is a cross of a Haze father with a fine babe of SW).

LR if they dont finish out a lb its knocking on the door, im going to guess just a bit over due to the densety. was thinking they looked like rock nugs, lota weight in that type bud n those look heavy. man thats sweet!!! i was impressed with them from the first time i saw them. easy trim too as not too much leaf/bud ratio. their structure would allow some seious training like i do mine, have you ever lst'd them to see what they would do? nice scores man...

The power of positive thinking - I like it! You're right - over a pound! Thanks!

The Madi responds well to all cropping strategies. OMG - you'd be one of those guys to pull 2.5 with your technique (maybe not in a tent) - she loves a little stress. You can still get good results without any support, but like the OG, supporting those heavy buds is what it's all about with the Madi. Yeah - she's a super easy trim, and that trim makes great oil.

when i started smoking in the early 70s it was mostly haze available as far as real weed goes, to this day it sets the bar for what i call a good tasting weed lol. i do however enjoy the og n once n a while the grape taste of the purple strains. guess its kinda like music, whatever your era was is how you rate it. guess that kinda ages me :)
