Back in the game

I took a break from growing for a little bit while I got my life sorted out. Now that Im settled and have a more private place to grow I want your opinions..

I started a couple years ago with a crappy cfl closet grow, then bumped it up to a nice 400w cooltube setup in the same closet. The only issue was I had family around who weren't entirely too keen on the whole idea.

Now I'm living in SC, in a house I rent with a friend. The master suit (my suit) has two walkin closets.. an improvment from my last, small.. step in closet. I figure to make things simple I'd veg in one, and flower in the other. What results could I expect when using the 400w for flower, and running some nice highwattage CFL's for my mothers and vegging clones??

lol yeah I went through the whole cfl's grow then my mom found out and I was in deep shit... waited a few years now I have a place all to myself and started a grow... unfortunately It will have to finish in a house where Ill have a roommate, but he's cool...

as far as the grow goes I think that'd be a solid setup... I know that alot of people recommend 4 plants for 400w but I think you could strategically place more... say you do a vert grow and have your plants all around the light... Ide say you could atleast do 6 that way...

Well I was actually hoping to get something perpetual going. I would designate one closet to Veg and the other to Flower. My initial plan was to have 4 different strain mothers, who I would start under a 400w MH then after they are big enough to pull clones off I would switch to CFL. This allows me to use the 400w setup for my flowering plants with the hps light.

Any suggestions for mother strains? Im looking for some high yeilders, but I can afford to sacrifice a high yield for real quality on a mother or two. My last perpertual grow, which got cut short had 4 great strains: Blueberry, Blue cheese, Church, and Whiteberry.

I have 2 400w hps bulbs, but only one balast, I have two inline fans that are very efficient. I will be usinng mh for the first 5 weeks to get solid growth on the mother plants. After the first several weeks I plan on switching to cfls for veg to lower costs and maintain good mothers aswell as raise clones. I'm wondering how much the electric bill will increase if I buy another ballast and run two 400w hps simultainiously to increase productivity. I know there is a cost calculator in another thread but I just want a rough estimate for the two 400w hps', 2 nice 200w cfl grow bulbs, and the additional electric used to power my fans.I appreciate any help.. thanks homies.

ive got 2 tents lol 1 smaller than the other i dont keep a mother i would normally take clones of the plant and throw it in the flowering tent its great.

the way i have it now is i have 3 in the flowering tent different 1 4 weeks 1 3week and the other went in 3 days ago plus i chooped 2 down last week.
and in my veg room i have 2 plants that are a decent enough size but im gonna let them go for a week or 2 plus i have a sensi star seed popped that im gonna clone off im counting that as my next grow lol which im not to sure about how many yet.

this is what i have working for me at the mo the few things ill say is i dont think ive room for a mother what with vegging and clones ive had to work up a cheapo diy type propogater thing outside my veg tent cause its just not working for me.

another thing i was pleasantly suprized with when upgrading was the electric didnt go up much from a 400 to a 600 plus my 250 veg light lol im expecting it to double not even taking into account my household electric lol.

this is my experiances so far from going from 1 room to 2 harvesting more often rather than bigger harvests.....hopefully anyway just hope i dont die from smoking to much weed
