Hey guys, so I started a couple threads previous to this one but mainly just asking questions:roll:. This will be my actual grow journal so to speak. There is more attention on the threads so i just post in here instead:lol:. Everything I have learnt about growing has strictly came from this website:hug: with a little added help from my hydroponics store. I used to be on here like a mad man a couple years back:eyesmoke:. Be patient with me if I'm forgetting something or making a dumb decision aha its been awhile. Love this website! Thanx for popping in guys! Suggestions always welcome! Cheers :mrgreen:

THE SETUP
I am in a 2 bedroom apartment with my girlfriend and my buddy. There is a big main storage closet amongst the bathroom and bedrooms that we are using as our veg room. I forget the exact measurements but its something around 5'x5'. We currently have our 1000watt up with a veg bulb in it. We have to leave the door open or it gets too hot obviously. The light is set to 18/6. We plan to get a 400watt for that soon for obvious reasons. For flower I purchased a 2'x3'x5' tent, a 4" 190cfm fan/filter combo, and a 400watt digital ballast with 6" cooltube reflector. It seems to be a pretty perfect little setup, highest temp ive seen is 30. If need be I can always grab a little 80cfm duct fan and use it for intake from my window although I might not even need the fan considering it'll be minus 40 in a couple months.

I have 2 mothers in 18gal rubbermaid tubs with Promix HP. One is a bagseed Kush, should be good:weed:. The other is a feminized Cheese strain from Greenhouse Seeds:sleep:. There are 7 Kush clones and 1 Cheese clone also under the 1000watt, they are doing great (a little small becuz they are just extra branches from the bottom of the mothers that I wanted gone so I could LST the mothers. The clones are a week or 2 old. I plan to flower the clones a week from today.

We plan to grab a farm or acreage next year, was too short notice for even a house for us this year so this is what we will have to stick with for the next year. We thought about getting a bigger tent and sticking the 1000watt in the cooltube for flowering our mothers but, thats about as far as we wanna go right now.

Hey there Gib! Thanks for posting some pictures and some excellent descriptions on what your doing and where your headed with your grow. Also, good job on your fiming. I'm not sure if RIU still has a "Journal" section, but that's what members used to use here for an ongoing grow. You might look around and see. AN products are excellent and Big Bud and Voodoo are good, but use 1/4 of the recommended dose on those two or you WILL get burnt. You might consider adding B1 Thrive Alive (might be equal to your Superthrive), Sugar Daddy, and some bat quano. Your grow area loks clean and organized. Rock on bro and keep us posted. Peace

Thanx man! I like to stay organized when it comes to growing. Thanks for the tip on the dosages, i will keep that in mind :) I'll look into those techna flora nutes as well. I havent noticed anything yet from the voodoo juice, we will find out with the clones, says first two weeks of veg and first two weeks of flower to use it.

The Cheese mother is my roommates. He topped it once and started breaking the branches so its taken awhile to come back, just stretched her out with pipecleaners. With the Kush mother I topped her 5 times and stretched her out with pipecleaners as well like I always do.

PS that bud looks orgasmic haha, what strain is that? Nice job!

Good idea about the pipe cleaners, but then ... when you need one... (lol)? It looks like you did some fiming...? The bud picture is one of the crosses that I bred last year with Bubblegum x Jamaica Airee. This years girls are all beans that were hand selected. Don't want to hijack your nice thread here with a bunch of my pictures. Your grow is as good, or better, than most. I see the love and the caution in you on the "when to harvest". I did some cool crossing this year and until I tasted some of this years "BubAiree" (lol), I thought nothing could be sweeter and smooth like Bubblegum. Take some pics on your harvest and share them here. We would enjoy seeing your success! Peace

Thats badass haha! Heavy girls eh lol. I bet shes delicious!:hump: Thank you for the compliments its nice to hear someone notice that about my growing so easily. I am no expert but man do I LOVE to grow and learn lol. Pipecleaners are a growers best friend i use them for everything, yes for actual pipe cleaning sometimes as well haha.

A little about myself is I'm a 25 year old Canadian from Southern Ontario. After my Architectural Engineering diploma at the local college I decided to head out west to Alberta and man do I absolutely love it out here! My first month here I picked up a go go dancer, next night she had me over for a steak dinner. A week later she took me out to the mountains for some boarding on a Kokanee party bus Was a nice welcoming. Ontario is dead, i mean its fun, but its the same old same old and the job opportunities are no where to be seen. Only thing I miss is Muskoka which is a well known cottage country area in Ontario with lots of lakes and parties and a get away for hockey players and celebs alike. I grew up there for a short but sweet two years during high school.

Anyways I am now closer to BC and curious about going back to school. I would love to professionally, commercially, medically grow. I am actually on Ontario disability for my anxiety and chronic depression so I could very well possibly get my medical card. A few years back I had filled out all the proper paper work and found a clinic out of BC that would do a skype appointment with me after i sent in the proper paper work and doctor diagnoses etc etc. I just couldnt spare the $400.00 or whatever they were charging. I also have herd rumours that they planned to phase out personal growing and caregivers come 2014. I havent herd anything really so I guess it wouldnt hurt to hop on that train now that I am so close to BC.

Forgot to ask what "fimming" is. I have herd the term but don't know what it is. I cut the tops to create more tops then bend the branches over slowly with pipecleaners. So all i know is i "top" and "LST". I use to use the term "monster cropping" before but i even forget what that means now lol.

A little update if anyone cares...

I fed all the clones a full dosage of:

-Sensi Grow A 3-0-0 (15ml per 4L)
-Sensi Grow B 1-2-6 (15ml per 4L)
-Mother Earth Grow 4-1-4 (10ml per 4L)
-Voodoo Juice (7.5ml per 4L)
-Grotek Pro-Silicate 0-0-3 (2.5ml per 4L)
-Grozyme (10ml per 4L)

So next friday I will just water them with out nutes and they will begin their first week of flower on a flush so to speak then I will start up the flower nutes. I like to feed one week and water the next and so on. This worked out quite well with wanting to flower when i did. Im sure people might comment if they do comment that ive already over done it with the nutes. I disagree, its all about reading you plants. I have a friend that worked his way up to using his nutes at 200% dosage and there was def. a difference in yeild. Comments questions, feel free, thanx!

Hey there friend...glad to see that your still on top of your game there. BTW, Fimming is actually no different that topping, what fimming does is virtually the exact same thing only your leaving part of the new growth. This only takes of part of the new growth and actually topping the very very new growth which is very hard to see. What this ends up doing is making it seem as if your getting 4 new tops right next to eachother when its actually only 2 at the very top (like topping) but since it was cut so closely to the next newest set of fan leaves 2 branches which would have formed there anyways seems to make it look like there is 4 new tops.

Also, I do not give any nutes the first several days of the flip to 12/12. When I do mix nutes, it is very minimal (1/4 dose). Looks like you have a variety of nutes! Make sure that they all work together and be very careful with the Voodoo Juice, as it's very strong. Peace

Thanx for breaking that down! i'll check it out :) I DO have alot of nutes lol.. I was thinking they could handle what im giving them. I have herd that about the voodoo juice, we will see what happends :) experimenting is fun, you can't lose lol.

That's a good attitude to have my friend. It's not only fun experimenting, but the things I've learned in testing new concepts or ideas that someone else introduced is totally rewarding to me! I'm just about at harvest time on some outdoor experiments that I'm doing for a seed breeder in the Netherlands (I'm in Midwest U.S.). Is this thread being moved?

LOL- It's a long, but funny story...here's the short version. Last year, I was in a Solo Cup Auto Contest. When I started showing detail pictures towards the end of my beast, several called me a cheater, so I dropped out of the contest. Several members got on and said I should not leave, so I stayed in and it got worse. I offered right on the thread to the contenders forcing me to quit a simple proof. I said that, if they would apologize to me and RIU, I would put up all of my detailed harvest pictures from every angle. No takers...they just wanted to win (lol). Shortly after I quit the contest for good, I get a pm here from Marijuana-Seeds asking lot's of questions on the solo cup girl (shown below) and the past threads and journals I've done. Please understand that I am "in no way" interested in growing or selling for profit and never will. It is just a passion to me when I see the results. I'm sure I will get some interesting strains from their interesting line up. I learned a formula and procedure for Indoor growing from a long time friend and it has increased all of my yields 5 fold. I had a thread here last year filled with pictures. It was a good grow year and did a bunch of breeding too. Peace

that is quite funny, things happen for a reason haha! wicked! I will post pics in a week when i move to flower. What do u think of my plan so far? I too enjoy the simple nature of growing itself.. however i do admit i sell when i need the extra money but not to get rich. I would love to start a collective between a bunch of ppl and provide for patients. No idea how to get that started though lol. I will have to focus on getting my card first.

factors of my grow being:

-2'x3'x5' tent
-400watt hps with 6" cooltube
-190cfm 4" fan/filter
*4" filter to 4" inline fan to 6" ducting to 6" cooltube to 5"/4" spacer to 4" ducting to window
-8 plants, 3L pots, 2 weeks old
-the above brands of nutes
-temps 30c highest, lowest 25c
-nutrients one week, water following week and so on
-going into flower on water week after week of veg nutes

We will see how big they are by friday, i might wait out an additional week and water again then. I'm just worried because of the size of the pots that i should just get going, 8-10 weeks in those 3L pots could be hell for them lol.

That's cool that your looking at getting your card. I'm sure that some of the seed banks would like to try some of these strains I've been growing indoors and outdoors, but that won't happen either (lol). On your description, it sounds like all the tools are there, but I have concern on a couple of things. IMO, 8 girls in a 2 x 3 is way too much. You will do more harm then good and management will be a nightmare! Been there...done it! 3 girls would be plenty for me in there. Also, I nute feed 2 times per week in flower. Every 3rd nute feed, I add some nitrogen (veg food) in. I use 2.5 gal containers with slots at the bottom and sitting in petry dishes for run-off. Keep us posted friend!

Haha keep em to yourself! I agree absolutely thats what I would normally do or one big one, its not a very big space but atleast i have one so im happy. I have the clones so i figured fuck it lets try it. My next flower was going to be the cheese mother after it vegs for another 2 months, thats should be good. Or who knows maybe ill save it for the 1000watt and just do some more clones. I'll just take a couple this time and take them early so i can veg them longer. I was going to do 6 but 8 will fit, we will see for how long tho of course haha.

Ive herd of people doing this or even read it on feeding charts about feeding twice a week. I will find what i like with the end product. I dont want to pump it up too much, i like a nice clean smoke. I have actually always preferred outdoors. I mean i love the crazy high grade strains but that outdoor is just so peaceful to me instead of that couch lock lets play video games all day stone lol.

UPDATE

Again.. if anyone cares haha

I needed a veg light for my mothers, the 1000watt is awesome but too hot and unrealistic at the moment. Not to mention is racking up my electrical bill as we speak. I purchased a 600watt digital MH/HPS ballast with 2 bulbs and a batwing relector for $145.00, should be here Monday. I figured I could use the 400watt i already have for my mothers and the 600watt for flower if i set it up with cold air intake. We will see either way I needed another light for my mothers.

I ordered another Honeywell air purifier as mine did not end up getting delivered. I also ordered a Honeywell air humidifier, 2' x4 t5 bulbs/fixture for my fresh clones. Will update with pics on friday of how everyones doing. My Kush mother looks like shit actually. I accidentally broke one of the branches LST'ing her so I'm sure she is just stressed from that, shes all droopy. I'm going to give them all a wash down with some distilled water and grozyme, they could use it after being in that dirty basement at my buddies, maybe that will help. I dont know if i should be feeding her on friday or just water her again to let her settle. We will see
