Bachmann Promises $2 Gas

Yep, all by her lonesome apparently, Michelle Bachmann will get gas prices below two bucks after she's elected.

An absurd lie, of course. Or is it? A return to $2 gas is simply not possible in a healthy economy, but there are conditions that could cause it. It would require prices for crude to be about half what they are now. A deep, global recession or depression could bring that about.

So, Bachmann being elected to the White House could make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

bullshit. 2 dollar a gal gas is probably the easiest thing to do. announce to the world we are going every where we can to find it. then go find it. you would easily see 2 dollar gas with the moving of the first truck onto the oil field. certainly within 6 months.

thats what needs to be done, turn loose our energy companies on the world. economy solved.

but no, you stupid libs will fight that at all costs and send us into this endless european stupid and highly unecessary malaze.

in 2004, which was right before the big blowup of energy, i was paying 1.22 for deisel, and 97 cents for heating oil. those prices are easily attainable at this time if we had a leader in the WH.

and we woud drive labor prices through the rough do to the pending worker shortages. you would be able to command your price. thats the way it was for most small business in 2004. what ever price i quoted, i got and then some. i made 6 figures for the first time in my life for 3 consectutive years.

Uhm, no.

If America were to go after every source of fuel as you said, it would amount to little or no decrease in the price of crude oil and if and when it does it would be at least a decade from now; That's not ideology, those are facts. At the rate crude oil has been going up in the last decade, a 10 cent decrease in the price of gas 10 years from now will be nothing when gas is $9 a gallon. How do you think we're going to achieve $2 gas? Market forces are dictating the price of crude, America does not possess the supply to leverage the market like you think it can.

we could use nuclear power to turn all our trash into oil if we wanted to

Sounds better than...Under my plan energy costs will nessacarrily skyrocket
The problem is that it's a lie, beardo(what Bachmann said); Bachmann made a promise that is impossible to keep. Prices will go up as emerging markets grow, it's just a reality we will have to deal with. At some point the market will force the U.S. energy market to change, but the U.S. government can facilitate the process so as to strengthen the economy in the process; If we just wait for market forces to act we risk economic growth and American jobs, if the government "incubates" the industry our nation will prosper as a result. Basically, alternative energy like solar and wind is a sure thing - this isn't just an ideological pipe dream.... We have to position ourselves to compete globally, and relying on imported energy sources like crude oil only weakens our leverage as a nation.

i dont understand how people are against what we call 'green' energy. whats wrong with new products that people will buy and use instead of the very expensive fuel source we are forced to use now? why continue to use oil forever? it just doesnt make sense. go put your face in front of the tailpipe of a car while its on. not easy to breathe is it? now imagine billions of times that being put into the air at all times. should we be doing this for the next hundred years? how polluted do you think that air is gonna be then? oil reserves isnt the only factor in the debate. theres already a black cloud over LA...

even if we werent polluting the air, whats wrong with solar panels and cars that run on alternative fuels? if there was zero pollutants being produced, id still be for these new technologies because thats what the market is asking for. (most)people dont want to be forced to purchase gas. wouldnt it be nice if there were 2 or 3 different fuel sources to choose from? wouldnt that also help stabilize oil prices because theres a competitor undercutting them?

Absolutely dude you and I both know it is impossible. Just like most of the Promises Obama made and Bush made and Bush made, and Clinton made...... The person who promises the most, while asking for the least, usually wins the stupid people over right away. Lots of stupid people, hence why Bachmann is doing well, why Palin is still popular, why everything Bush did has been forgotten and swept under the rug and why people will believe three steel skyscrapers can fall down and be completely destroyed by a small amount of physical damage and some fires.

As far as government HELPING to facilitate better energy policy? Nope, sorry , your dead wrong about that. Government FUCKS UP every time they meddle in markets. There is no market more efficient, more robust, more in tune with the issues of the day than a free market. Government meddling causes HUGE inefficiencies to appear ( Really? Corn into Alcohol? DUMB!) and every citizen who is taxed has to bear some of that burden. Government meddling may appear to help things in the short term, but always in the long run it is a HUGE MAJOR disaster. They have proven it time and time again, over and over, yet we still don't learn from our mistakes. Government has no credibility IMO.

There is nothing at all wrong with alternative energy. The problem is that instead of making them compete on a level playing field, libs tend to want to jack the price of ordinary fuels so these alternatives can compete. This equals higher fuel costs all the way around, crippling you and me and everyone else in this freakin country.

seriously drama? 911 conspiracy? come on dude, you are losing some rep.

and you know damn well 2 dollar gas is possible. as is 400 dollar gold and 5 dollar silver.

mine it, they will come. drill for it, they will come. costner to star in leading role.

When priced in honest money, gasoline only costs a dime a gallon.
so i says to the guy at the gas station, "can i pay in honest money cuz its only 10 cents a gallon?"

he says, "fuck no, in real money its 3.50".

and when i work, i insist that i get paid in real money.....which is worth slightly more than monopoly money.

do you think the earth is packed full of our resources? why do you think we should be drilling everywhere until its all gone?

uuuuhhhh yes i do think the world is packed with our resources. do you think you can use them all? thats just dumb.

do you think we are done inventing stuff? well thats dumb too.

so you think that if tomorrow every bit of oil were mysteriously stolen by aliens that the earth would get cooler....errr warmer...err whatever you nitwits are calling it now? thats the stupidest thing i ever heard.

oil is a resource that is made by the earth. nobody quite knows how, but it is. when it gets harder to find, we will be more advanced and find it. we aint running out anytime soo.

and someday we will have a new energy. maybe from a deepwater drill bored into the earth core? maybe from solar magnetic pull? maybe from giant fucking fireworks made from snail dung.....i dont fucking know. but rest assured, we will have it.

unless of course, you have your way and think inside that stupid little box some might call a brain.

then, soon enough we will be back to traveling by horse and dieing from diptheria.

free your mind, and the rest will follow!
