Hello Az RIU.

We have some GREAT growers in this section, and many of us dont really post on any other parts of the site. So lets make a place to help with each others plant issues etc. Pretty much a Q and A thread.

I am using a DWC cloner that i put together myself. And i have had cuttings in it for a week or so. I checked them this morning and they have a brown snotty like stuff on them. I have found info on brown root slime but im not sure it the same.

In a dwc this makes me think that the water temp is to high what's the water temp?

Also are you putting them into the water? It kind of looks like it in your 3rd pic. If so don't put them in the water they only have to be moist.

Warm water temps are the bane of AZ growers, I think. I would agree with info. Have you tried putting ice packs in your cloner? I used to have to do the same thing for my aeroponic kit.

Sounds like slime especially if you aren't keeping the water temps under 70 degrees. Why didnt you just add a pump and make a manifold you would have built yoruself a true aero cloner like those expensive ones at the grow shops only a DIY and a whole lot cheaper, EZ clones are like 300 bucks.

i like rockwool and cheap domes and trays. works every time for me.

Ive been doing this for 13 plus years and used rockwool with amazing results. I went and bought a 120 site ez cloner and never made one heathy plant . needless to say I only used it once and sold it for half of what i paid for it . I paid $389 at the shop

ill try to cool it down, i have 2 12 in air stones so the water is well aerated. Im sure its the temps then:)
Are the savable? or should i trash them and start over? Cloning is the one thing that i still dont get how to do. Not sure how/why but im not good at it haha. I know the steps etc but they never seem to do what they are supposed to do^^

Not all clones live even the best clone cutters still lose half of them. There really isnt anything to it you just have to know who to make the cut, where to make the cut, be very clean , use sterile tools, always wash your hands. You should try cutting the clones and putting them in rapid rooter plugs or rockwool and into a dome see if that way is more successful for you.

That is exactly what I do. Plugs, gel, and a dome plus a week or two; bam! rooted clones.

Do you leave them in the dome that long?
well I leave them in till I see roots poking out the plugs. An example would be my super skunk clippings rooted fully in like 4-5 days. My chemdog clippings took a little over 10 days to root

...I use an ezcloner with 100% success, everytime, always.
...hydrogen peroxide is what you need....it will kill off the pathogens....I add 2ml per gallon of water every 4 days, that will help with the brown slime. Your cloner needs to be warm, so I wouldn't stress on that...add the peroxide ;)

...I use straight tap water and the h2o2
...pH to 6.0
...keep temps above 70
...under low lumen lights
...100% success.

Ok thx just started to learn about clones as I got a few fresg trimmed clones I put them in a ghetto dome. Took them out after 4 days cause they all had started new growth and still look good a day later. Wanted to make sure I didn't kill my girls.

You are doing something very very wrong if you need to use h202 with a cloner other then to just clean it between runs.
Your cloner needs to be warm is FALSE. High water temps in hydro can = root rot and def will get you slim

If I were Phil I would just convert the DWC Cloner he made into full blown aero cloner all he needs is the pump and to build a simple PVC manifold that way your roots get sprayed with the solution. Phil are you trying to use the clone solution in the DWC tub you have ??
