Avoiding electric company getting suspicious

I have some pretty chill buddies I've known for a few decades, but I would probably still make them commit a grow to share the risk so as not to be the sole fall guy. Just in case ya know? True friends go down together.

I used to have a 3kw electric 'inline' heater heating the water from a covered pond over winter, while the fish were very young. Bear in mind it was a 3,500 gallon pond in the UK so it was on for a fair bit every day to keep the temps stable and much higher than ambient. Paid my bills on time, and never had any problems whatsoever with the electric company or the police.
Don't ask the cost, but it was cheaper than losing the fish due to the cold temps.

few red flags here
1. whos house is it? your landlords? are oyu renting? or are you staying with friends?
Does renting make a difference? I'm about to move out of the party house and start renting a place by myself and want to start growing. Will renting an actual house (not an apartment, duplex or fourplex) keep me at risk? Really need an answer for this one.... EDIT: meaning I've never rented a house by myself from an unacquainted landlord. Do they typically just pop up? I don't seem like the shady type... how often if ever do they do they make visits?

You know, the hydro stores across the country supply this equipment to thousands of home indoor hydro growers who have nothing to do with weed at all. They don't hide their grows, they just pay their power bill and their power bills look the same as yours.

Multiply that by the power of 2 for all the indoor aquarium and reptile enthusiasts.

I use flood and drain and it is fast and easy/do you want a parts list here?

Its better to have big plants then smaller ones 4 plants is 4 plants no matter the size. Your electricity better to grow in winter because of cooler temps great for plants and everyones cranking up the heater ! Blend man bpend

Depends I've had landlords who never ever did shit and had some who were intrusive
Within the law

The thing is they can enter their house for any reason in any emergency
That includes pipes bursting

^ what he said

if you use the search button youll find lots of people paranoid and almost no one getting dinged for it

the electric company doesnt care, there could be hundreds of reasons aside from growing that youre electric bill is now higher
Does anyone ever know of someone who got busted?

My search in this area, when deciding to grow, resulted in only finding the power company mentioned in busts when the grower had stolen power, altered the power meter, or not paid high bills... That type of thing. News reporters are lecherous swine who would LOVE to leak info like "...tips offs from the power company lead to..." but I've never seen or heard of that.

I think power readouts, if used, are as supporting evidence when obtaining a warrant, and let's be honest here - if the police are looking at your power readings, implying they already suspect you grow, well you're likely already fucked and it wasn't the power reading that got you there.
