That guy had some anger issues, you should of asked him to take a toke and calm the fuck down, lol. You did the right thing bro, dont let anyone ruin your day, he walked off in anger so it effected him alot more than it effected you, especially since you were the one with the joint, smoke on bro :bigjoint:

Yeah, when in doubt it's always best to walk away (or ride away). The rest is usually just emotions, and those go away. Get a busted nose and that shit may be crooked forever.

So just got back from riding the mountain bicycle around and had a couple joints so I'm just talking with a friend he leaves and a guy sees me smoking a joint and says get the **** out of here with that so I just hold my ground and he comes up to me asking me if I want to go 1 vs 1 I don't like to fight so I say no :finger: and he leaves then he comes around the corner and ask me again to get off my bike and tells me were going to get down so I stay cool he's with a girl so he's trying to get tough so he trys getting me off the bicycle aand kicks my tire but I ride off. Is it smart to not fight in this situation? I was least half the size of this guy. Also had a little purp on me so best not to get any law involved.
Good job in keeping your cool, although the disparity in size is probably good reason for this, maybe also the J :bigjoint:

Being courteous in these situations help immensely, a quick sorry and explanation of how you did not realize the smoke was wafting over to them would have probably neutralized the situation, I know I hate it when cigarette smokers are near by puffing smoke in my direction; I can assume a non-smoker (cannabis, tobacco, or otherwise) feels the same way.

I've grown up with herb smokers, I am 3rd generation herb smoker, and have toked with both my parents and grandparents; and one thing I have learned from them is courtsey goes a long way with people.

Always best to avoid a fight whenever possible...You never know when someone might land a blow that premenantly disfigures you, or pull out a little shiv and stick you. Fuck, especially over a joint...And where the hell in SoCal were you that someone commented negatively on you smoking a joint in public? lol.,..The worst I usually get is random strangers asking to hit it. Although, I am not exactly a small guy, so I've never really had too many people confronting me in such a combative manner.

And to all these people that say they woulda shot the guy, or stood toe to toe and fought with him for no reason...You all sure do have some big dicks, be proud of your internet bravado.

Theres just as many people saying they wouldn't do anything, iv been in many similar situations and I rather fight than run away. Not tryin to be an Internet tough guy. Real people do real things if you fuck with me my friends or family your likely to get picked up and put on your head regardless of size. If you didnt deal with the type of shit I did growing up then I can't expect you to understand wee all this anger comes from and what motivates me and other certain people to do certain things. Maybe being in foster care as kid, nobody likes knowing there parents didn't want them. Iv been an overly aggressive person sense pre k

Yeah, I don't have a propblem with people beating their chest to prove a point. I just personally think it's smarter to avoid a situation that could possible maim or kill you, especially is that just means walking/riding away. Why put yourself in the line of danger when you don't need to? I dunno, I think to myself "What is the point of getting in this fight here, when I don't care what the fight is about."

That being said, if I view someone as a viable threat, and they are planning on hurting me or my loved ones, I will definately be the first one to take action. But it's not safe...You never know when someone will take their asskicking, go home, get a gun, and come back for you. If you've ever had a gun held to your head by someone you know has killed before, then you probably know the right thing to do at that moment, which is whatever the hell they tell you to do.

I wouldn't and won't argue anything you just said, I agree to an extent and I can't lie and say there haven't been afew times were I wasn't confident in my self and was worried and actually at risk for getting seriously hurt. It really does have a lot to do with how much violence you were around as a kid, just in terms of whether like you, think its wrong vs me thinking it's just part of life. And btw iv had 2 guns put in my face by random people I knew nothing about, one was actually quite recent involving road rage. And I'm not gunna say I acted hella tough with a gun in my face! Matterafact the first time it happend I was at a party in the mission in sf when o was in highschool and .... Well to make a long story short after having a Gun out in my face by sme 20 some year old thug and then being chased in a dimly lit neighborhood I found myself sitting in a bush in sombodys yard just saying to myself wtf am I doing here and thinking is this really how I'm gunna die as I watched the car full of guys looking for me and my friends stopped on the street in front of the bush I was in.

If anything I admire your ability to just walk away and not let your ego get in the way , which is how I all to often find myself in these types of situations

Also I'm not neccasrilly saying I would be trying to fight just from the guy saying to leave. But if he fuckin kicked my property and tried to swipe something out of my mouth I take that as you trying to slap me and that's enough for me to get off the bike and put my hands up

People who like agro, like agro and are normally quite handy. Even if you can handle yourself its best not to go at it unless you have to. Try a MMA class, handy stuff but leave ego out of these situations.

pick your battles wisely irregardless of how tuff you think you are any conflict can result in death that bieng said if you chose to fight make it quick and extreamly violent ie.. broken knees, fingers, punch in the throat finger in the eye shouldnt take longer than two minutes addrenaline will last at least that long dont waste it bullshitting and pushing. just my two cents.

There is defiantly truth to this but mma classes are just another place to meet people you might not get along with except this time you share something in common you both like to fight... Iv trained jiujitsu and kickboxing at a gym in high school some kid who also trained at the gym didn't like me and wanted to fight me at school to get his rep up I fucking pounded his face into the cement in front of 200 kids at lunch time then got tackled off of him by the principle. I ended up getti kicked out of the gym I was training at!! Even though the other kid sucker punched me I just finished it. I resumed training at a different gym doing jiujitsu and traditional American boxing instead. It dose force you to have ore respect about fighting but I'm not the biggest dude so people thik they can push me around and that's just not the case.

You did the right thing. No need to fuck your high up. That little cunt was obviously trying to get you to hit him first so he could claim self-defense like the little cowardly fuck he is. If he actually were to start and attacking you vs. your bike you should have done whatever it took to make sure you were safe...including beating him within an inch of his life...if not an inch past it. Don't worry though, this doesn't make you any less tough, or any less of a man. We've all been in the position where some piece of fucking shit is starting trouble for no reason, and we decided not to engage them. One time I was going out for a run and some little gangster wannabe punk started talking shit to me for running close to him, so I turn around to see what his problem was. He then waits until he's like 30 feet away from me before reaching into his shirt/pants like he has a gun. I decided that even though I could probably beat this guys ass he isn't worth possibly getting shot over, so I then just continue my run. Basically what I'm saying is never compromise your safety when you, or someone else, are not in immediate danger. Sure you could have won the fight...all it takes is one clean shot to this clown's jaw and he's down for the count, but it's possible he could have hit you, you fall backward crack your skull on the pavement, resu;ting in your death, and for what? Some clown to act like a badass in front of his ugly girlfriend? I think not.
