Autos and light

Since autos are not photo dependant I assume that some ambient light entering the grow space during lights off is okay?
Or do they need absolute dark also?

Their flowering mechanism is not based on light at all but an internal timer set by genetics which you can do nothing to delay, they do what they want. Any light leaks won't change your flowering cycle. Technically you could flower it under 24/0 lighting, but a waste of energy imo.

18/6 should be fine, 12/12 will decrease yield a bit and is not needed.

Hope this helps, happy growing. :leaf:

"Extrome" said it - "It's in the genetic's" . 18/6 in normal time for auto's (some say 20/4) But use this time thru grow but switch to flower lighting and still use 18/6 at week 3 or 4 of auto growth:
Auto growth cycle:Germination/Seedling stage - 1 week
Vegation stage - weeks 2-3
Pre-flower stage - week 4
Flower stage - weeks 5-8 ( some auto may finish in 7-8 weeks while other will take up to 10 weeks of flower
