Autoflowing cloning or topping? light cycles?

new to growing indoors, i picked up some photoperiod seeds and autoflower seeds (because i heard its easier to grow for beginners) my questions are can you clone autoflowers? and can they be topped to get bigger yields? also what can i expect for yields from an autoflower?

i plan on growing the autoflowers first.. also what should my light cycle be? is it the same light cycle throughout its life like 18/6? or does it need to be 18/6 and switched to 12/12?

Any info on someone that has grown autoflowers would be greatly appreciated. :leaf:

If you try to clone autos, they will flower at the same time as the mother. I tried. Topping is useless because they really don't have time to recover before it flowers. Autos are great to run with your photos. They are ready about a month earlier.

The autos can be run at pretty much any light schedule. I vegged mine @24/0 and flowered @18/6. I got close to 3oz dry.
I grew in hydro with approx 1200ppm nutes.
People will tell you to run them 24/0 throughout others believe 18/6 is better. I was told that the dark period is when the plants transform the light into energy, thats why I gave 6 hrs of dark.

Are you growing in soil or hydro?
Watch temps, I seriously stunted my first autoberry due to heat.
In Hydro PH and Temps are key to a great grow!

What they said ^^ but I would like to add. Strain depended yes you can top an auto. Some will argue that a auto has only a short life span so any dmg you do will lessen your yield. I call bull shit on that. Tried and proven different.<-----Strain depended. For example Think Different autos I know you can top-lst hell when some top colas stated to grow past my lights I crushed stem and bend it over (at week eight), and those colas still were 28g dry. 1 plant---> 280g dry nice auto.

18-6 or 20-4 is your best bet with autos any less light just slows them down. Any more than 20 hours a light will only rise your electric bill with less yield. IMO

Yep what they said but I don't top my autos lst yes alot. Also I run 18-6 for the first 2-3 weeks then 20-4untill 2 weeks before harvest then back to 18-6 don't really know if it makes a difference but I try to save money when there small and almost done. Also I use soil so I don't add any nutes till they show around week 3 then go slow and see how they respond they don't like too much I've done it not good. If ur going hydro sorry that was pointless but I don't remember if u said. And for yield I only have one grow done that was awhile ago but I do have more going now but I got around an oz per plant not really but that's what it adveraged to 2 were small 2 med 2 tall. But I have read and seen pics of people getting indoors 5-6 oz per plant depends on alot of things but overall there great they have finally stableized and got the potency up from the org lowryders. So hope this was some help happy growing

Oh yeah they only way to make more of an auto is to use colloidal silver and pollinate another plant with the all female pollen of that plant then bam hundreds of all fem auto seeds
