12/12 is fine for autos but less energy means less yeild. I've done autos for several seasons and typically use 12/12 after sexing to conserve elec.....I grow for myself so smaller yeilds don't make a diff for me......

OFFICIAL LOWRYDER GROW GUIDE (10/04) - written by the Joint doctor

Preferred growing methods

Indoors, Lowryder performs very well in soil mix (pots or beds) or in soil-less systems, where it can be cultivated from seed to bud in two months – 18 hours of light per day is recommended all the way through. Switching light cycles down to 12 hours may diminish yields and shorten the already-short life cycle slightly.

i was in this situation on my first grow. i had big bang(regular feminized seed) and solo ryder(automatic seed) growin in two dwc's in the same grow area and they were at the same stage of growth. so when it came time to start flowering i decided to keep them together. they both flowered great, and seemed to be thriving. then on the last week of flowering, i noticed small little banana shaped things growing off of the solo ryder aaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhh....my beautiful solo ryder went hermy!!!! now im not sure if thats baecause it was automatic, but it was a pain in the ass to keep pulling those things off everyday and they keep growin back . i had optimal lighting, c02, nutes, etc. at the end, i saved the big bang from getting fertilized and ended up with some awesome buds. the solo ryder on the other hand had some seeds, so i turned that whole plant into honey oil and budder. all in all it turned out pretty good, but it would've turned out better if it didnt herm. just thought id share that.
