whats everyones take on autoflowering.

this is my first time ordering seeds and i am just confused and not sure where to start.

i know obvsly that autoflowering the plants start to flower by them selves.. so basically you just change the lights from 18/6 to 12/12 once you notice??

also is there a chance you get males from autflowering seeds/? or are they feminsed??

&& also how much less of a yield do you get from autoflowering seeds. is it a huge difference??

Autoflower seeds stay on 18/6 or 24/0 or 21/3 or whatever vegetative lighting schematic you want to use...longer light, same flowering..they are not photo period dependent on flowering...they flower due to age...

and if you get fem autos they should be fem...reg autoflowers will be a mix of male and female seeds.

ok so once they start flowering you dont need to change the light cycle?? wouldnt that be to much light that its getting though..

i normally do 18/6 for veg and then swap to 12/12 during flowering

so basically i would just run it 18/6 thruout the cycle? no need to mess with lighting?

also do you happen to know about the yielding?

im looking into nirvanas northern light feminised autoflowers. they look like it would be a good grow but idk what to expect under 600w hps and some cfls as an outcome yield

They change by themselves, really no warning... You will either notice alot more bushyness one day and white hairs or nuts.. They are all quite hardy so it's difficult to kill em, keep them under ocnstant 18 / 6 20/4 or 24/ 0 From the day they sprout to the day they get harvested.... Simple as that..

yea ok i have changed my minbd once again i am stuck betweent 3 strains. but i am purchasing 2

Blue Mystic / Bubblelicious / Jock Horror - They are all Feminized & Autoflower. so no chance of males. no need to closely examine and cut down any.

just grown and harvest. i have tons of nutrints that i need etc. grow tent and lights. i am ready. just need to decide.. they are all estimated at between 200-300g as an end yield according to Nirvana's website. and are all in the same area of taking up to 8 week to flower/

so basically just need to decide which two to go with. what are the best out of the 3 in order from best to worst

They can be hermaphodites.. and have both pollen sacks and flowers so you'll get a ton of seeds who carry the hermi gene... But if you keep them on for continuous light 24 / 0 Ther'll be no chance of light leeks so that eliminates one of the possiblities of it turning hermi... Also choose bubbleicious... Smoke it with the ladies, it gets em rowdy... Like catnip to a cat.

Autoflowering strains do not depend on a photoperiod to initiate thier sexual maturity (flowering) so it is best to keep them on a longer "lights on" schedule. i like 18/6 i think that plants need a few hours of dark per day to stay healthy, many dissagree with me many agree with me.

you can yield around 3 Oz per plant if grown correctly, most people either dont give them the proper lighting or harvest early for a less potent and smaller yielding plant.

a typical auto states that it takes around 65-70 days from seed to harvest, this is not true, while some (not many) do only take that long, most take between 80 and 100 days to finish which is around the same amount of time a normal plant with a 4 week veg time takes.

autoflowering strains in my opinion are great for planting outdoors at the begining of the growing season, they will give you some good buds 1/2-3/4 of the way through the growing season as you wait for your photoperiod plants to finish.

as far as a indoor grow operation, you can grow a photoperiod plant in the same time, with the same yeilds and cut down on around 336 + - hours of electricity usage.

for a beginer growe they are also a good option, they are fairly resilient and just a over all good first time strain.

people also bitch about auto's potency, i dont have any scientific proof but i harvested a auto not too long ago and it was extremely tasty and got me high as fuck off only a couple of rips. i also let my plant go for around 90 days and reach maturity.

alot of people see "65 days from seed to harvest" and use that as a law, chop thier plant WAY too early then bitch about yield and quality. in my opinion auto's are good plants for certain situations like first time growers or starting off a outdoor crop in the spring(alongside your photoperiod plants).

go to autoflower.net its almost identical to rollitup.org but obviously for the auto growers... Let me just I have to disagree with SOME or what retiredmathebrute said. There are A LOT of autos that 60-65 days froms seed with them being at peek harvest. Autos are definitely becoming extremely advanced and popular for the short grow. I recently harvested 5 auto berries from marijuana-seeds.nl and harvested at day 63 from seed germ, and the trichs were 70% cloudy 20% amber 10% clear. It was some of the best smelling bud and when cured after 2weeks was soo smooth and got me and my friends super high with heavy eyes. Off of the 5 plants i pulled just over 12oz cured, i used a 600hps on 18/6 the entire grow. If you are a serious grower the achievements of obtaining 2-3.5 oz in 60days is very reasonable, its actually the norm for serious growers. When you have the best genetics and u grow them under relatively optimum conditions you get great results. For me the only downside to autos is the electric bill lol as they need that light to be much more then 12/12 to achieve there max potential. Hope this helps...
