Autoflowering windowsill grow?

ok so I know this may sound silly, and some of my questions may sound stupid ( I've never grown) and if it was easy I suppose everyone would be doing it? But I'm curious to have some questions answered about a windowsill grows using auto flowering seeds. I only want to grow one plant and the buds are for Percy (personal smoke, that's if their smokable):-D only
This is purely out of curiosity I'm not expecting much or hardly anything but any advice would be great.

1. What would be the best auto flowering seeds to use?

2. Does the plant itself smell and would it stink out my house lol? Stupid I know. How could I solve this?

3.is it as easy as people say? A lamp for if there's not enough light, seeds, a windowsill and patience?

4. How long roughly would it take to start flowering?

Thank you all :bigjoint::bigjoint:

Few people say it's easy to grow this plant. But it doesn't have to be rocket science either.

1) Up to you. Pick something that sounds interesting.
2) Yes, more than likely. There are strains that don't smell much at all. There are others you can smell down the block. Do some reading and find one with a lower odor. There are also many threads on how to control odor.
3) Yes. For your first auto grow it's that easy. You'll want to do more on your next grow, and the next, and the...
4) It won't be that long. Depending on the genetics, two or three months (or so).

Ablaze nailed everything perfectly. As for the first one though. Mephisto Genetics has SOLID strains. Some of them rival or even beat regular strains. For example, i just bought some Double Grape from them https://www.mephistogenetics.com/product-page/double-grape It was tested at 22.67% THC from the lab they used. (they have pictures of all the results)

I bought it from a US vendor though. But if you're looking for a good breeder, these guys have my vote. (im not sponsored by these guys in any way.)

EDIT (food for thought): Also, if you plan to start your auto grow now, you might not yield as much as you would if you would if you'd start it in April/May. Autoflowers like longer light periods ie. 18/6 or 20/4 (even though they can flower in ANY light cycle). I decided to add a auto to my grow, right now im flowering my Cheese Candy and threw in Auto Blue by Mephisto genetics, in hopes just to get an extra 10-20g LOL

Very doable and maybe add 1 little light fixture securely placed with the highest led 6500k u can find, a long rectangular pot some organic potting soil (not mirical grow) low odor strain (still gonna smell) there s ozone and other products to handle smell also and be patient that's about it you would probably surprise yourself

I used to do this but im switching to using lights now, my first go i tried a strain called royal bluematic from royal sure seeds just put it in a pot and basically left it only real hassle is keeping it supported coz it'll stretch its reaching further for the light, this strain hardly smelt for me personally it only kicked up a little stink when i moved it or had the fan on em took about 7 weeks to start flowering

I tried, using a Northern Lights auto (they say it's easy to grow, more disease and fungus resistant, low smell, etc. Ideal for beginners) and, well, it didn't yield much at all. It grew, was damn near 3 feet tall, but not much on it.

There were "complications" but the biggest problem was trying to get enough light on a west facing window in Belgium, where the only difference between a summer here and one in Scotland is that the rain isn't quite as horizontal.

I was stupid to think that such a situation would do well, you may have better luck with things like weather, position, and so on if you're in a warmer and sunnier climate than me and can have it in more of a south facing window to get as much light as possible.

I have grown several indoor sunshine grows from my apartment in high-rise.....I receive about 6 hours of direct sunshine during the peak of summmer

1) I used 5 different Crop King auto-fem strains but I wouldn't recommend this breeder as they are hit & miss, but the "Dwarf Low Flyer" was the best, or shall I say the least problematic

2) yes the plant will smell but since it's summer I keep the windows open, never an issue as I'm only growing a few

3) Auto-fem's are very easy, I refer to them as "plug & play" as no worries about the hours of light so they work very well in an open environment, but I only use the auto-fem's for my sunshine grows....I use normal photo's for my indoor HPS grows

4) My auto-fem's have ranged from 90 to 120 days (from seed to harvest) .....flowers typically start at about 4 to 5 weeks

Below are a few samples of previous year....follow my "Past Grows" link for more details

cheers
