Autoflowering seeds

If a seed is auto flowering does that mean you can't force it into flowering? Or that after a certain amount of time it will flower on it's own w/o you putting it on 12/12? Also, when a seed is feminized how do they know that for sure it's going to be female? THX for the help.

first off, feminized seeds aren't a 100% guarantee but they're pretty damn close to it. i don't know where to find it but a while back i read a thread on here about how feminized seeds really are grown, its not magic or lies. i wish i could find that post for you tho. as for the flowering aspect, i believe if the light cycle is 12 12 from start itl flower sooner but the AF strains will flower on thier own even if under 24/7 light. flowering will just be prolonged. hope this helps. happy growings
