Autoflower Seedling Water Schedule? ?

Ok so this is my first time growing indoor and growing autos.

I germinated both seeds in a glass of water Wednesday night. Both were popped the next morning so they were placed about a 1/4in down in the soil in 3gallon pots. Both immediately received about 2 cups of water just around where the seed was planted.

It is now Monday, 3-4days after the initial watering. How often should I be watering the seedlings and when do I start watering the entire pot?

After the seedling stage I have an idea of how often to water (I weighed both pots when I first mixed the soil so I know what they weigh dry) just not sure how to approach the seedlings.

Thanks in advance! !

There is no predetermined amount of days to wait between watering.
Weigh the pot after watering, and everyday after. This way you get an idea, not only when to feed but, how much she is drinking daily.

My guess would be you are ready today but trust the weight.

Good luck. Peace.

First off, the fact you waited 3-4 days after initial watering is probably a good thing. It's difficult to not to want to water more. If this was me, I would probably double the amount of my first watering. I would concentrate on watering about twice the area. In otherwards, if your first watering was just around the base, I would bring that out further and hope to get the water deeper too, but not to the point of saturating the entire pot.

I was really worried about this same scenario. I ended up spending first two weeks in a solo cup then going to a 3 gallon fabric pot. I know some have said autos can stunt from the stress, but I was gentle and it didn't even seem to notice the switch. I wanted to fill the solo in all directions then let it go to work in the 3 gallon.

My biggest fear would be having my root system head to the bottom of the pot without filling out the sides too. Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in for ya though.Good luck!

I stick my finger in to the cup to the first knuckle in solo cups and to middle of finger in 5 gal. If its dry water it if you feel any moisture at all. Wait and check again the next day.

My experience/research and understanding is when using final pot method, recommended for autos, water as if watering a smaller pot, increasing diameter accordingly, as if up potting. The idea is to send that tap root to the bottom. The root will expand from there.

Ok. Going to keep to what I've been doing and slowly expand out... when should I be adding root nutes (organic bio root from general organics) after first week abover ground?

Don't need root nutrients, waste of money.Plants have been building roots since the beginning of time, let them do it.

If you are in an inert medium, start feeding lightly once you get true leaves...like 200ppm lightly.Of a good complete nutrient formula

If you are in amended soil, you shouldn't need nutrients until probably into flower.Depending on the quality of the soil.

Good luck.

That's gonna be pretty hot for seedlings,I suggest to top the pot with a seed starting mix like light warrior or cut with happy frog.Ffof won't last you to harvest probably though so it's a good idea to have basic nutrients on hand.

Great! Thanks for the input... seedlings are already in the mix so hopefully they don't get too burned up in there. Good info for the next round though, I'll keep it in mind..
