Auto Flower pot size questions

Hey all

I remember reading years ago that auto flowers grow better with a tall pot over a short fat pot, is there anything to this or just wives tale?

I am going to be growing a single plant in a 36' tall tent with a 200W LED, i wanted to use a short fat pot if possible to keep the height under control, or would a short fat DWC hydro bin be a better choice? I haven't grown an auto in about 10 years, so im kinda out of my depth here, any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Autos are a race against time. Since dwc grows plants a lot faster I would definitely go hydro. Honestly I would go RDWC

Thanks for the reply, a DWC is doable i dunno if a RDWC is, what would you suggest for the small space, maybe 2 gallon Res?
That all depends. With hydro you can get as creative as you want. Personally I would do the black totes with the yellow tops. I think they’re like 25gals ( don’t quote me in that) But i think A food grade bucket would be fine. I would recommend you cover the top of what ever you decide to use with foam insulation (it shouldn’t be that much from the hardware store) and drap black plastic around everything containing nutrients. ( that should be that much either. It keeps temps down and prevents algae growth. Trust me you’ll thank me later

I was growing in 2 liter hempy bottles, i then used 3 liter bottles so they could be shorter while still having 2liters, the plants grown in the 2liter bottles yeilded more for me, there was also a better root system on them.

Ive now switched to 1gal dwc, not going too bad, plants are on 2nd week of flower, theyre drinking 500mls daily so daily feeds are needed.
