whether you have the flu or not if the ash is black is black. no doubt it could be some killer smoke still but maybe a little harsh.

Anyone know where i can get some seeds from in NSW around Newy area? hit me up
Why do they have to be local? National mail isn't going to be searched for seeds so anywhere in Australia could post to you... but really you could just order seeds internationally and get the genetics straight from the breeders. If you are worried about customs, just send them to a non-growing friend or relatives home. If they need convincing tell them there is no way they can be prosecuted for something addressed to them because; anyone could of ordered it- say as a joke or to get someone in trouble etc, if they get suspicious and watch/investigate them since they don't grow then the investigation will turn up nothing, if police raid them again with no crime they will find nothing, etc. Well that's the end of my rant about why I think you don't need to ask locally.

Actually no I got one more thing- it's probably actually weird that you are trying to meet someone in person. This is obviously a very clandestine field of interest to be in. Most people would try really hard to be not identified- let alone meet a stranger in person and lets them know you grow. For example, they could follow you home right? That could be a cop or a thief.

ok smoke report is ready on the aquaponics buds. i have to be brutally honest. it wasnt all that. it might be the fact i have too many fish, it might actually have been a little overferted. i found the bud didnt burn real smoothly and burnt to a dark black ash. i was kind of expecting it to be real smooth being organic but i think i would rather smoke my coco grown stuff.

the high is about the same maybe leaning more to the indica side in the aquaponic stuff whereas my coco stuff was a lot headier. im a bit devo because im out of coco grown daybreaker now and that was my favourite smoke. looks like a large coco scrog is on the cards
I'm no pro when it comes to smoking and have never grown, i'm just very interested in this grow because i've got a little aquaponic knowledge and well.. to have my own little stash one day would be nice.

I've had some experience with other plants grown aquaponically where they have gone brittle when taken from water for only a very short period, or have not not dried the way i was hoping. A few questions i have:

do you think that maybe the dark black ash could have been caused because you followed the same drying process as a normal grow?
have you grown much in hydroton before with better results?

I'm a noob to this forum but I just love the aquaponic concept and it looks like you got a very good result.

give it a go man. honestly it is getting nicer and nicer in the jar. its starting to lose some of its green colour and im sure its going to get smoother. i have an online buddy who i might gift a nug too and he can give a more honest smoke report. im sure he will post it up on here. and yes i think there may have been a few factors which i could have controlled to make it even better.

I'd love to but my main concern is to do with the people i live with and them being suspicious when certain fragrances start to develop. from what i've gathered aquaponics increases some scents as well!

Anyone got an idea on what to plant which wouldn't smell like a dead give away?

Hey you know I can't give you a real answer for that but i've been sorta thinking about the topic. Weed has a really wide range of smells from funky rotten, to mango to lemon to berry to musk and much more. I was thinking though if you are worried about neighbors and what not, some smells aren't going to be much different than an air freshener right? I recently used a wall plug in one and it was pretty strong smelling and actually not the nicest thing i've smelled. It made me think that if there was a pure lemon smelling strain for example- who could tell if it was an air freshener, weed or maybe even a guy who loves to make lemon peel marmalade or something?
Here's another example; I grew out World Of Seeds New York Special, which is meant to be a re-release of the original diesel plant... and you know I swear to god it really smelled like fuel. I could smell it outside the window and i asked myself 'is that the plant or is it really diesel spilled somewhere or something?'. If that was grown in a shed, who could say it's not a leaky fuel can?

if you have to be that worried about the people you live with finding out then honestly it may not be worth the trouble. i lived in share houses for many years and always wanted to grow but could never really get it happening so i can understand your pain but if its going to upset the people you live with or put you at risk of being busted its really not worth it.

so continuing on with my paranoia..

i believe in most states hydroponic growing is illegal.

but what do you think would be the case of aquaponic grows.

technically it isnt a dirt grow or a hydroponic grow.

I think that is a massive grey area in the law. Technically it is organic hydroponic- but cops won't always notice or understand the technical details. I mean point #1, hydro doesn't mean stronger- so why make the differentiation?
Some cops would see any indoor grow under a lamp as 'hydro' because it uses electricity rather than sunlight. In their minds anything that is 'unnatural', like indoor growing, is 'hydro' (and apparently super potent compared to an outdoor organic). Others may look at coco coir in a pot and call it 'dirt' and therefore not hydro...but it is hydro.
I think the answer to the question doesn't come from actual facts but from other things like psychological effect when the uneducated cop looks it with his eyes. Plastic buckets, tubes, clay balls, water pumps, air pumps, fans... I think the psychological effect will be that you are running a 'drug lab'... and it will take effort on your behalf to convince them it's organic etc.

aquaponics is a form of hydroponics. your still growing in water.

abbot might not be so bad for this country i dont like the guy and i didnt vote for him but just because hes a douchebag doesnt mean hes going to be a bad leader.

and who knows he does like a good ego rub and has already stated he wants to be remembered as the infrastructure prime minister. the guy who will be remembered in history as the one who made changes to our roads. making big changes and being a part of history is high on his priority list.

maybe just maybe if things keep going well in the states where the MMJ movement is becoming a multi billion dollar industry and injecting tons of revenue into the economy, maybe just maybe abbot would like to be the guy somewhere down the track who opened this country up to legal pot. increased revenue, eased peoples pain. That would certainly rub his ego. although i imagine that his views on Mary are pretty oldfashioned, he probably believes all the old propaganda

We don't need more roads we need more public transport as roads just cost the economy and don't provide any income back to the tax payer for their investment in the roads.... Only does clean , less polluting high speed and urban trains will take this country forward like the rest of the world and also they provide an income back for the initial investment....

Personally i don't and will never support George Bush's and John Howard's Love child Tony Abbott.... Thbottat's not to say i was happy with Rudd but least everyone got a fair go under him and under abbott its all about increasing the wealth of the miners and the monarchists in the Liberal Party and Rupert Murdoch ....
Australia is about to go to war in the middle east again now and make us the target of these radical extremists ...

Go back to 1996 to 2006/2007 .... Tony Abbott was health minister ........He believes the US propoganda on MMJ more than anyone in the Liberal Party .... Go back and look at his speaches as health minister on MMJ and all will see how this conservative narrow minded douche is going to ruin it ... Doesn't matter if the states pass laws because in the end its upto the federals health officials to approve any such changes under the TGA

I voted greens.

It's going to have to take a politicians daughter to fall ill to something that marijuana is going to benefit. Something like cancer. Once it is personal to them then they will risk political suicide.

I think we are about 3 changes of government away until marijuana can come into the public debate. How America deals with MMJ and recreational use is going shape the way that we deal with it.

So maybe two terms for Liberal, then one term for Labour....and then marijuana will come into play, just like marriage equality did this election.

I just watched a newish weed documentary from CNN. Seemed very positive.
