That’s even if they take it. SA won’t take new solar grid inputs from residential PV because the grid apparently can’t handle it. They also want existing and future pv systems to have a remote switch so they can stop panels pumping into the grid if it “can’t cope”. They should probably just invest in grid stability and large scale storage options like kinetic batteries or pumped hydro.
Existing from this financial year not anythikng older

Yeah but selling ageing services to private companies is actually a good thing if done correctly. Where they fucked up for they didn’t reinvest that money back into said services.

For example with electricity it made sense to sell off our ageing coal generators so taxpayers where not stuck with not only the increasing costs of maintenance but the cost of decommissioning plants once they outlived their lifespan. Where they really fucked up was selling the transmission grid and not reinventing the money back into renewable generators, storage, grid stability and future technologies.

Not the older ones they aren't
Only newly installed ones or 12 months old
I don’t think you get what I’m saying. It’ll be compulsory for new installs but they want to make it compulsory on even the older ones. What they want and what they get aren’t necessarily the same thing but.

I reckon the only way they will get around this is to credit the account for those if and when get turned off to prevent a black out
