At what height do you guys like to flower and see best results?

I have heard 12" is the best height to flower with great results, is this correct or should they be allowed to grow a little taller first? I did this with one but didn't seem to pull out much. What do ya think?

depends on the strain, some need longer veg times to get copious colas.
