Assertion of Rights

Officer, Please understand:
I have the right to have an attorney present if you want to question me or conduct any search of my body or personal effects. I am not giving my consent to any type of search.

If I am under arrest, I wish to invoke and exercise my Miranda Rights. I would like to speak to an attorney now. I do not want my personal property impounded, nor do I consent to any impounment. I request the opportunity to secure my personal effects.

If I am not under arrest, please tell me immediately so that I may leave.

I have the actual Assertion of Rights card in my wallet at all times & when asked for my I.D. This card is the 1st thing the LEO see & reads! Just wanted to pass this along to every1, especially with the gray area were facing with the Marijuana Law here in Michigan. There is a link I'm trying to post up to go along with this that is a MUST read for every1! So bear with me while I search for it!! :-)

Might not cut it on the scene, but if they mess around with you, I'd like to think it still means something in a court of law. I know we gave a lot of rights with the patriot act, but things are getting ridiculous. When I see people that have been issued patient cards and then are barred from even saying medical marijuana in their trials. Bullshit!!

Thanks Celpalopod, happy to see somebody know's where I'm coming from! Rite on Man! I know from experience when I hand this card over with my I.D. It speeds up from being detained for too long!! LoL..I remember one time before I had the card, I think I must of sat there like 1 hour!!! I'm not kiddin!! But after gettin that card, if & when I did get detained I only sat there for like 20mins max!

Here's a link to some very valuable information that I don't think a lot people know about...I can't copy & paste the entire thing, I'm limited with my Blackberry..but if somebody wanted to copy and paste into this thread that'd would be awesome!!
I'm just trying to help everyone realize you need to open your eyes and realize what your Rights are as a Citzen of The United States of American! And stopped believing all ther bullshit!!

Hahahaha...I called an Attorney in California 10 yrs ago to get this card, but I called again because I needed another one and they said they stopped mailing em out! I have a friend who copied it and made up his own business cards from it!

I agree, but I've met LEO too many that don't want to play nice. Once I Royal Oak, I was stopped with a friend for no reason we didn't even make it a block from my house. Cop said he smelled pot in the car, which there wasn't and neither of us had been smoking not at all, I hadn't for a couple months at the time and my friend even longer. He asked for permission to search, my friend said no, he said too bad cuffed him and threw him in the back of the squad car, I just waited outside while the cop searched. Lets us go, but only after asking us if we knew what shake was? I asked" like with fries" and he proceeded to give the definition and stated that he had found some on the floor boards. Yeah right, that's why we left without tickets. It's guys like this and the fact that you really can't gain anything by talking to them, that makes me like this.
