Asking landlord about indoor medical grow?

Hey I have been wondering whats the best "word usage" when asking your landlord about growing your meds indoor or outdoor?

Do you live in a county that requires you tell them? I don't so I just did it. When the landlord found out by sneaking into my greenhouse I told them that according to the law I was to report and unlawful entry to my grow space and that she was technically trespassing as she had not given me 24hrs notice. She quickly appologized. If you are legal the law is on your side.
