AR's Grow Journal: Four New F1 Generation Medical Strains

Hello folks,

It's been awhile since I've last posted, but I'm back with some brand new, totally unique medical strains that I've freshly produced. They are all F1 generations that I will be growing in order to find and stabilize the best phenotypes. If all goes well, hopefully these seeds will be released to the general public for sale as I am trying to start a seed company. So kick back, load up yer bowls, and join me as we witness the birth of the next Cannabis Cup winning medical strains.

The first of the four strains is Strawberry Cyclone. It is a cross of Strawberry Cough and Vortex. Then, we have Guava Lava (Juicy Fruit x Hawaiian Indica) and Pacific Airways (Bubblegum x Hawaiian Indica). And finally, we have Dirty Whore. Though her lineage is broad, we are keeping it a secret.

Also, we have a special clone that we will be documenting the growth of for nostalgia's sake. Jack's Cleaner, originally bred by subcool, is such a rare strain that has became a grower's myth (read about it here. Fortunately, a trip to a small, middle-of-nowhere mountain town has landed us with a clone of the Jack's Cleaner, taken from a 12 year old mother.

At the moment, the seeds are in the process of germenating, and the clones have been freshly transplanted. They are all growing healthy under a T5 HO light fixture.

This batch will have the honors of crissining a new room of mine. The room is 20'x10', and will be powered mainly by 4x 1000w HPS lights inside of 60" cooltubes, with red spectrum T5 HO panels filling the gaps.

Anywho, here's a few pics taken minutes ago. Make sure to subscribe and follow along! Comments and feedback are appreciated!

Everything is looking beautiful. I'm putting the finishing touches on the new bloom room as we speak. Though instead of 4x 1000w lights, there's going to be 8. Anywho, on with the pics!

Cannabis Cup, eh? I heard about one last year a little more east than Aspen, but never made it. Maybe I'll have to make the drive this year to check things out. But I would love to enter my strains in the competition the following year! Hopefully they'll be ready by then. I've got a lot of work ahead of me!

Subbed. So the seeds you're starting out with are Store-Bought and you're going to cross them with each other... or have you already done the crossing and now we're watching the children grow? Thanks.

I take it that none of these seeds are fem cuz you need ballz too? Will you be selling them fem later?

They are seeds that I have already crossed. They are the first generation!

None of them are fem. I need both male and female plants to then breed the seeds with themselves. If you can remember back to high school biology class, you did those punnet squares that told you the possible characteristics of the offspring.

For example, you could get PP, Pp, or pp. Since these seeds are only the first generation, they are heterozygous for the allele that I want, meaning there exists a possibility to get either PP or Pp. We want to keep breeding the plants until it is homozygous for the trait we want, meaning that only PP will be present in the new seedlings. This will take a few generations.

As for selling fem'd seeds... I'm not so sure that I will do that. I've never really been much of a fan of fem'd seeds due to the increased possibility of hermies. I will, however, have clones that people in the area can procure.

Update!

I moved all the girls and seedlings into my newly converted veg room (used to be an old bloom room). Unfortunately, my puppy ravished a few of the clones, taking off chunks of leaves here and there, so they are in recovery mode. As for the seedlings... it's been barely two weeks and their roots are so established, they got transplanted a week early.
