Hi gang, I was just looking for your thoughts on this subject.

What do you think about the healing effects of the aroma of cannabis? Personally, I enjoy the smell and maybe it makes me feel a bit relaxed or spiritual. I don't like to get high per say, but sometimes I just burn a small piece of bud and sort of waft the smoke like a shamen may use sage or something. I get a very slight buzz, but more than that I feel happy and uplifted.

I love the smell of lavendar, rosemary, and citrus also and I have lots of different essential sprays and incense. I am thinking of making my own potperri or incense for home use, what do you think?

I am also wondering about this for use with different illnesses. Depression, cancer etc. Maybe a person doesn't want ingest much MJ, but could there be a use just with the smell and essence?

The terpenes and other volatile compounds are not unique to cannabis.
Anything but thc and the cannabinoids can be sourced elsewhere. Keep in mind the cannabinoids are a class of terpene that hits cb receptors, they are not the only terpenes to do so.

Imo it would be a waste to use weed for such a commonly sourced product/task.
Thats not to say it wouldnt be effective, as the same compounds used in traditional aromatherapy are present.
