why steer clear??? chance of herming?? or other badness??
Fem seeds tend to produce male organs right around week 6-8 of flowering (Not All fem Seeds).

The seedling gets confused and does not know if it needs to reproduce(male) or produce(female) and next thing you know your females are growing male organs to pollenate themselves... Once a male get into a grow room or area it is OVER... You will have to pack up and go grow some where else because of the pollen...

The process to make Fem seeds is an art that many try to perfect and fall short. There are a few seeds that are Fem that will get the job done but you have to look over the Nugs the last 2 weeks of flowering to insure there are no male organs growing... Though this does not happen every time you use Fem seeds but it is a possibility...

I like to start from seed or clones only if you find a good source... At least when you turn the room over to 12/12 to flower you know that a handfull of your crop will be females and the other handfull males... Much much better than a transgender plant... trust me

Non Fem Seeds 1st or top shelve clones from a good source... The work has been done for you...

Another thought that came to mind is finding the right source for your seeds and clones....

Seeds usually are easy to come by since they are mass produced in other countries...

But clones... It is super important to find a good source... Example... The Bloke you buy your clones from may have bugs or diseases in his grow room...(Very common indoor grow problem) Now he brings you clones with the pests or disases and you take them into your grow room and BAM... You have shit flying around in the garden and the house starts smelling like ammonia... All because of the shitty conditions the other bloke had in his grow room...

My point...
start with seeds or find the right bloke with clones...

So, instead of getting advice on how to grow, I get that I am a complete dumb shit and a fool because I choose how I spend my money differently than you?

What is your purpose here? If it's to shit on people who don't conform to your standards, enjoy yourself.

@Beaver, I hope to get more than an ounce but I'm sure my expectations will arise with my experience. This Phototron will be my first ever grow attempt. Ever.
My friend...

Try to copy the rays of the sun with the next light purchase... many FIRST time growers biggest mistake is NOT having the proper lighting... Alot of companies know this and try to sell you shit that will never grow Top shelve nugs.... I gave up on everything execpt HPS... I believe MH light systems are a waste of money too... I know a shit ton of people will say different but when have you ever seen the sun look Blue... The sun is mostly a red spectrum and the is fact regardless of the season....

If HPS are not stealthy enough for you go with T5 system with full spectrum bulbs... You will NEVER grow top shelve shit with these lights but it gets the job finished. I HIGHLY recommend getting your hands on a HPS system and use nothing else if you can....

I call bullshit because I have grown out about over 50 female seeds and I never EVER got a hermie or even close... Genetics are key and getting good genetics from a good breeder is even better. I have grown out even more regular seeds.

Its common practice to pre treat your clones when picked up from dispensaries or other growers. I was always taught to pre treat clones with Azamax.
My point is starting from clone is fine just be a knowledgeable grower do your homework.

A well produced Fem is one that is stabile. The art of Feminizing has pretty much been mastered and if you buy from a good breeder you shouldn't have any problems. OF course, you always have a chance your Fem'ed seeds will herm but I you have a chance your reg seeds will herm also.

Thats what I'm saying. When feminized seeds first came out yeah they had tendency to hermie but I think enough time has passed and the art of feminized seeds is pretty solid now a' days buy from a good breeder and you wont have problems.

Like I said my friend... My opinion is Fem seeds tend to Herm at week 6-8 of flowering or not at all... I would rather NOT have the possibility of Hems.. There are good Fem seeds but I recommend regular seeds or superb clones...
Please read what someone has to say before you shoot them out of the sky... I made my post UNBIOS so I didn't have to argue with someone...

I have never had a regular seed that grow into a female turn to a Herm... They are either Male or female. Unless you are a 1st time grower then it is possible to herm a female by Fu..king up the lighting schedule...

i will also call this a bunch of bullshit. this sounds more like your own conjecture rather than anything founded in actual experience. i have grown many feminized seeds from quite a few breeders and none of them ever hermied. actually the only hermie i ever had was a sour diesel which was a regular seed and the male flowers showed the same time the females did (week 2-3 of flower). if you have bananas popping out during week 6 then you probably have a light leak. in most cases i would attribute hermies late in flower to some kind of stress and most commonly light stress during the dark period. this is what i have seen in my experiences growing. please do not spread misinformation that has no real basis in experience and actual results.

I did read what you said and from someone who has grown many female seeds I said your claim was "bull shit" . I never had a hermie or close tto one and I never heard of anyone growing feminized seeds who had a hermie at week 6 or 7 , I'm not arguing with you simply stating that your claim is erroneous and I say that so other growers dont get scared and believe all the bullshit claims people have with Feminized seeds vs regular seeds. This is a message board where people interact and react with eachothers writings.

Exactly at week 6 or 7 ( close to finish ) a light leak would lead me to believe you were having hermie issues. Thank you Irie you said it best.!

Do you even know what bios means you are stateing reg seeds are better then fem. You are not showing no facts you are stating an opinion and that is dios.
I been holding my thoughts but man I think your only in mmj for money and not to help ppl. You can say what ever you want about me or this statement but make sure your useong facts or other will eat you alive.

I am simply saying I DO NOT mess with Fem seeds and I have had a problem with Herm at 6-8 weeks into flower(No light leaks, seperate room). Just because you never had it happen does not mean it can not happen... Like I said my friend, it is all about the breeder... NOT all breeders do their shit right so there is a possibility that the plant can herm...

When did i ever mention anything about MMJ? I dont want shit from you my friend....
Something to think about... A tree that stands firm in the wind snaps.

so you grew one fem seed and it hermed on you and now all fem seeds are shit? this logic does not work for me. what was the seed strain and breeder that hermed on you so we know specifically which one to stay away from. got any pics of your hermies?

And a snapped tree has fallen ? Did I get this wrong or are you now claiming it is just from your personal experience and not a fact proven elsewhere ? You sure sounded different (as in I KNOW) a few posts ago . . .

I have used Feminized seeds from TH, Green House, G-13, DinaFem, DNA , Reserva Privada never had a hermie I did have a issue with Reserva privada and their beans not germinating. That has been the only problem I have had with feminized seeds.

So if a pit bull bites you does that mean every bread of dog will bite you because the pit did?
WOW Oh Wow... MR. I have 215 w of cfl and 60w t8. I don't care to argue this non sense... like I said it is the breeder that determines the out come not the grower in respects to herms...

If you are a douche bag today but not a douche bag tomarrow... I still think you are a douche bag today....
