I've experimented and found you start to get a more noticeable vapor ie smoke when I turn it up some. Example, if at 220 the only way I can tell I'm smoking is cause I'm getting baked, but, if I put it at 260 say, I start to fecking cough and shite.
I warm mine up to either 220 or 230 (depending on how dry it is). when I'm about to vape I'll kick it up 5 or 10 degrees. If I'm doing a balloon I'll let it fill most of the way up at around 230 and then bump it up to 250 for the last 20 seconds or so to get the THC at higher temps.

Since I am able to smoke it after vaping, I wonder what percentage is used by the vaporizor and what is left for smoking.

But, (to the other guy) if you're not getting any vape then it could be the following:

Too much in the bowl (I wouldn't go past half until you know how to use it)
Packed down too tight (this will burn it because the air doesn't get through...you also won't get much vape. Use your pinky and barely press down on the top)
Temp too low (bump it up to 230 - 235 and see how it works)
Didn't let it warm the weed up enough (I did this when I first got it and wasn't getting much vape. Let it warm up in the bowl (with the whip or mini-whip attached) on the heater for at least 3 minutes. The vape won't escape or anything. It's heavier than air so it'll just sit there.)
Using leaves instead of grinding (you need to get a grinder at your head shop and grind your weed so you have more surface area. This makes a huge difference. Don't try to vape buds or leaves, it just doesn't work that well and it's a waste).

Hope this helps
