I'll think about it. I'm skeptical of the notion of 'redirecting' plant energy though. Plants are a totality. I wouldn't cut my left hand off to make my right one bigger...

I'll see what reaches the screen (and help it do so) over the next week and then maybe clean up a little.

I hear you about disease. I grow in clay pebbles and water from the bottom, so there's never any actual moisture at the surface. In any case, I haven't had any pests since I started using Protekt throughout the grow.

If I may; I think is healthy to be skeptical in general. I have justified, in my own mind, that the plant leaves below the screen are not going to be productive. There is little to no light for them to convert to sugar. I feel that if I inhibit the growth to the non productive area below the canopy by trimming, then the plant can use the saved resources (sugars collected from photosynthesis) in an area where it will get light.

Plants generally have hormonal methods of doing something similar (i.e. putting out foliage in the best lit areas and ridding itself of non productive elements); we just do it faster with our fiscars.

The first introduction I had to SCROG was the tutorial over at OVERGROW (rip). Since that time I have seen a number of very productive runs. The below the canopy trimming is dogma for best results I have seen. However the fact that it is dogma does not make it right. It is what it is and that is what each of us are here to find out. May you find what works best for you!

I hope you enjoy your garden as much as I have mine. May it always be a source of pleasure!

Heya A51 pros, just a really quick question because I'm hesitating between the RW150, the XGS or SGS.
I would use the led light with a 600w hps and probably for veg too.
Any suggestion?

5 sf give or take. I'm very curious whether I could flower that space effectively with one light. I have more turbogardens I can run. I may get a third light, possibly a rw150. Then i would probably be able to double up. I used to run two units under 2200 watts of hps. This is much cheaper in the long run!

Nah, if you read back, these were clones in plugs for almost 8 weeks. Never fed them anything. They were gasping by the time I started to feed them, and there's nothing wrong with that. I just never dropped the three leafers. As soon as I fed them their growth was all five leaves.

looks nice, what kind of yield are you getting
didn't realise it was in such a small space
looks like you don't need much in the way of fans ?

I am in a 15x12 basement room. I have a cheap oscillating fan vaguely blowing in the direction of plants. I got six oz growing jungly style. Expecting more from this screen.
