Area 51 w90 vs new spectrum King "closet case"

I'm having a hard time trying to pick from these two lights. I was just about to place my order for 2 Area 51 w90 4K lights then I stumbled across new lights from spectrum King called closet case. It's a 100 watt from the wall light that seems to be promising. I briefly talked to people at spectrum King about theirs vs Area 51 w90. I know they are going to push their product but I figured I listen to what they have to say apples for apples. Basically they said the led is overall better because it can cover more area to veg and flower. I just would like to get others opinions.

2 a51 will draw 180 watts, ... U gotta look at it at watts per sq ft, I don't care how fast the technology is changing but if u think 100watts of any lighting is going to outdo 180watts of xobs ur dreaming.

I got a nice test round under 3x90w a51 over 1 plant coze I was skeptical how well 3000Ks would perform on their own and the plant is looking well over half pound.

My vote goes to a51

Even though the 3000Ks are working well on their own ( I shouldnt say on their own coze I have baby T5s sidelighting) I would go with the 4000Ks for more versatile lights (using 2 in veg right now) possibly slightly smaller yield but more frost (not 100% sure on this, still needs more testing but I'm 2 good rounds in a row with w90s mixing 3000Ks and 4000Ks)

Yea I keep going back and forth..Area 51 is pretty popular around here I guess I wanted to think there was something better out there not diy for the same cost

I built 2 greengenes bars 200w with 3500k cobs, have not done a test round with them on their own like I did with the w90s, right now I'm using w90s as side lighting with them... I trust that they work, with the Canadian dollar exchange rate, it wasn't worth to do diy, I would simply buy w90s instead, solid light with warranty. I say w90s but have not really looked at plc, tasty and others ... Anyone of those glorified diys fixture will do really

I'd stay away from a51 and choose a different cob led company. There's several better options. A51 has shitty customer service. It will take a month for your order to get shipped out if its not out of stock after you already paid. If that happens you will be waiting months. It will be difficult to get a refund then too. . If you get the light and anything goes wrong, good luck getting a response on a warranty issue. If they do respond which is rare these days. It will take a minimum of 3 months to get that part replaced..

Plc is coming out with new ones in a couple months. Tasty and Northern is pretty good too. A51 costs more than the others as well

Plus cree cxb cobs produce more photons than veros anyway.

Your right about the customer service hyroot. If Area 51 had a phone number and would respond to emails I would order from them for sure that is the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger. I'm not sure if Area 51 is a legit company or some guy working out of his garage that has a real day job and does the led thing on the side. Who is Plc? I like spectrum kings customer service..you call their number and they pick up right away same with emails.

i own sk400 it vegs great and may grow an ok plant..its nice and water proof but i would get a51 if that was the only other choise
but i wpuld get PLC or Tasty from one of the guys here..i think the extra cost would be way worth it

I guess hyroot s right, but most of my lights are a51 and always been happy with the actual lights... I'm not up to date with LEDs but the question was spectrum King or a51, I just looked at a51 website ....and I don't get it, seems to me Jeff had it made, i cant believe his company jas gone downhill so much....still always out of stock!? Maybe he never had enough cash to really make it happen, at least he always been good with me.

The more I grow, the more I realize the light is one of the least important factors, (assuming its bright enough). Area 51, proven great lights. SK400+ from the pics I've seen, does the job quite well too. CLW 440/880 also excellent. I own 2 of the three choices above, however, the best LED grow I've done to date was with a Blackstar 500. Go figure?

Here you go if you want a single cob model:
http://www.tastyled.com/Tasty-T1-2100-LED-Grow-Light-p/t1-1750l.htm

Or here if you want one bar with both cobs in it:
http://www.tastyled.com/product-p/t2-1750r.htm

Or your best be is just go like this - @Rahz help me select one of your led lights for my space please! And you will see top notch customer service.
I feel you and everyone else here with the comments on the lacking customer support and evasiveness from many vendors in the led marketplace.

How can they even stay in business I don't get it, they never have stock of their lights and they have no customer service. I just don't see how they can stay afloat vs the wave of incoming new LED makers that have really good products and good customer service.

I just was looking at these northern LED lights ,they look really good too, are they a new company too? Where do they come from?

I've been corresponding with someone trying to fit a 2x4 tent.

The T1-2100 costs a bit more than the w90s, but also emits more light.
The T2-2100 would be a better deal than any of the single emitter lamps but wouldn't quite have the spread for a 4ft. space.

I tried to find stats on the Closet Case but could not. They also have a 100w lamp called Mothers little helper for the same price listed at 9,000-10,000 lumens. The w90 is probably hitting 11,000 lumens. The T1-2100 is putting out over 12,000 lumens.

Either the Tasty or A51 option would be a better deal. The Tasty would be $10 more each plus shipping, but similar value for the extra output. The T2-2100 would be under $400 with shipping... not the perfect footprint but yield would be similar and in all these cases we're examining, the PPFD would be under 500, so plenty of room to upgrade in the future which might make the T2-2100 more appealing.

I tried to talk them into a T3-2100 since it would be more ideal for a 2x4. :) although, going with the T2 and adding another one later would ultimately provide the superior PPFD.

that said, we dont know how many fixtures a month he is selling and we don't know how many he has sold so far, maybe the demand was quite high, who knows, ... at any rate, should keep the customers informed...
