are these trichomes clear or milky?

nearing the end of my first grow, and I/m still sort of confused on the look of a milky trichome. can someone tell me the status of these bad boys?

You need to zoom a bit and really look at the heads, but they look mostly clear from here. I see no amber, so your definitely not long on the grow. What week of flower/what strain?

its just a bagseed that i found, cant really remember what strain it was. figured why waste the good seeds until i knew i could pull it off. im in my fifth week of flowering.

i agree with this... not only that but checking the color of the trics is but one thing to check out to see if your plants are ready for the chop imo..
have the pistils all receded, are the calyxes swollen as fat as they're going to get, do the buds have an amber hue to them?? do the plants simply scream finished yet?? if all of those can not be checked, let them go longer imo..

shee it, 5 weeks of flower, you've probably still got a good 3 or more weeks of flower left easily.. even strains that say they should be done in 8 weeks i've yet to see one that was done in the 8 weeks time the breeder says it takes to flower...

Take some pics of your buds and it will be much easier to judge how long they have left. I used to go by trichomes but after a couple years i started going more by swollen calaxes and receded pistils.

At 5 weeks, it's not worth worrying about. Even a fast finishing indica is going to go 7-8weeks, and yours will most like exceed that. Start checking around then.

so if i am to understand correctly, at the peak those long hairs will recede into the bud? when it is said hey recede, how far are we talking?

and racerboy, thanks, i cant wait to start on these hindu seeds just sitting here.

Its not really a set amount. Look at your calexes. They will swell like crazy and your pistils will turn colors. Its kind of one of those things that you will know when you see it. Your flowers will look ripe. I took a bunch of pictures of my last grow of the transformation over the last 21 days of flowering and the change that goes on but i got to paranoid to post them.

can someone point me in the direction of a picture of said swollen calyxes. im interested to know what they will look like. i appreciate all the help/answers

they are still clear, early to early peak. You can tell because the heads of the resin glands haven't fully rounded. Once they (the resin heads) become more bulbous, they will begin to change in color, milky, then yellow, then amber in color.

You cant really make out the calyxes in that but you get a good overall idea of what finished buds will look like. I take mine down a little sooner than he does but youll learn how you like them over time.
