Are these Symphilids?

If they can "jump"(using their whiplike tailthing) crazy far for their size, then I would guess springtails. If they are symphilids, looks like BT dunks(organic,cheap,safe) should knock them right out.

I have to agree about springtails.

They're detritivorous. Meaning they feed on decaying matter and some fungi.

They are actually quite good and are found in a lot of outdoor soils.

Apparently beneficial.

But it asks the question what's dying in your rootzone.


Roots constantly die and regrow. Maybe get yourself an enzyme based product to help break down the decay into something useable by the plant? Hygrozyme cannazym etc.


You could also inoculate with Trichoderma fungi to help out compete the springtails for food.
