Are these ok?

I am doing a CFL grow. The boxes I am growing in are pretty confined. Anyway, I am doing 4 23w (1600 lumnes, 100w equiv) CFL for vegging in one box, and 6 of the same for flowering. This is SOG btw, so all plants are pretty small and recieve ample light. The CFLs I normally get are just plain 23w, 100w equiv CFLs. When putting them in my new grow box (which is brown wood) I noticed how "yellow" they are. They look like a soft white incandecent. I also noticed they had the 6500K daylight ones, but for more money. Are these regular soft white CFLs ok, or are they almost as bad as an incandecent? I have noticed growth with them when I use them, but will the daylight ones give me much better, noticably more growth?

no man . get the 6500k ones immediately!!! you have the warm white ones, those are perfect for flowering when the time comes.

Cool, so they do have a use. I will just have 8 lights for flowering. The more the better!!>

I am not sure if they are "warm white" or not. These are Wal-Mart standard GreatValue CFLs. It did not specify a color temp. They are whatever your standard CFL is. Soft white?? Warm white?? Same thing?

Why woulden't you want daylight for flowering as well?

ok 6500k or day light simulates the sun in the summer....2700k or warm light simulates the sun in the fall, hence these are used for flowering (2700k)

exactly. now your thinkin. u can use both at once. just better if your cfl growin to have a grip of 6500k full spectrum daylights. youll see a blue hue for the daylight bulbs and a gentle yellow orange if its warm white. if you see something with ''cool white'' thats what yer lookin for. and if you have 2 of the same 6500k bulbs look which one puts out more lumens. shoudl onyl be a 100 or 200 lumen difference. need about 3-4 per plant for a full grow.
