Are these fungus gnats?

If they are gnats this might help. I have hypoaspis miles, rove beetles, and nematodes that take care of any gnats and a lot of other stuff we don't want. The hypoaspis miles work by themselves though for fungus gnats. Also all my predators came from EWC or vermicompost, but you can buy them separately. Oh, and get some sticky traps for those flying adults until you get things under control.

Dawn dish soap killed all rootaphids I had. Shit was worse than you can imagine, they where crawling on walls, tables, trellis. Had pear brown and white root aphids from a farm in N Cali, never had them until then. Didn’t know what to do, bought thousands worth of items that didn’t work.
Spray w dawn dish soap, water w dawn dish soap, total game changer. Just don’t know

I heard it works well. The only advice on that is make sure to get mixture right. I learned the hard way was. I didn’t take my time to get better instructions next thing i know the 3 plants in flower i had, completely died. Due to my not having the right percentage. And had to much soap and that plum killed them. Learned alot the hard way and hope no-one else has to lesrn the hard way. The greater the passion. Helps to pass on what you’ve learned and still learning so others don’t harm there plants. thank you.

Bolt, if your wife enjoys research (and you're expanding your grow) studying up on root aphids will benefit your endeavors.
IMHO, its a subject that deserves proper attention.
Root aphids are becoming a cannabis plague. They have complex reproductive cycles and they're extremely hearty. They're also virus vectors and are said to be responsible for the current "dudding" epidemic seen in some cannabis varieties.
There are lots of ways to "control" them but full eradication is difficult and requires a multi system approach. Some claim to have had success with Imid, but more often than not, it just knocks them back. They're like the cockroach of the indoor cannabis world.

I'm overtired right now and I've gotta be up in a few hours but here's a few good starting points.

Phantom lockout, magnesium deficiency symptoms & WINGED ROOT APHIDS NOT fungus gnats!

(this is a long thread but worth reading. I read this a few years ago and it helped put me on the path to a diligent IPM)

Rice Root Aphid photos and management

I included these as well since you're growing more than cannabis and it expands on the subject with some interesting history

Thank you. Yes she started looking into it a few days ago. As much as we heard about them. I don’t believe we ran into any i will know soon when she reads several different sites. She doesn’t settle with some info she diggs until she satisfied reading many different sites. Then shares it with me. I will seriously be waiting to find out all info on them. Thank you.

Thanks for info!!! Heres why that works, it also works on other bugs.

"The active ingredient in insecticidal soap (Dawn) is potassium salt of fatty acids. Insecticidal soaps such as Dawn detergent are contact insecticides that dissolve the insect’s exoskeleton and disrupt the cell membrane. They may also remove the protective wax on the insect and thereby cause death."

Very safely too!

Sunni im not on this for confrontation. I do like to help people out the best i can i dont claim to know everything but my problem is trying to help I do not like the type of people that make fun of or don’t like it. Im stand very strong about that. And to many out there doing that so i stand strong to them. I enjoy growing. And always willing to help others. You as a staff i do respect and if you and only you think i need to go Due to haters i respect that and will delete my membership. ( i am a person that help others and stand strong against those that make fun of and don’t like people like me and will not change my ways).
I'm a senior citizen, this is how people act on the internet. It's not just here, its mostly all websites. Ya gotta have thick skin, even when ya do try to help others. Some weren't brought up right.
