OP you're fucked. Try and positively id them, but if they indeed are winged root aphids I'd trash the plants. Wouldn't even try to kill the fuckers before doing that. They only have the winged version when there are too many of them in the same area and they want to spread. Look up their lifecycle. They can even reproduce asexually so just one of them may start an infestation again.

Op, this will assist you in positively identifying your pest and give you advice on how to proceed. They do look like RAs but to be sure, compare to the pics in the link I provided. If you can, pull your root ball out and closely examine it. With RAs, by the time you've got flyers, you're pretty well infested. There are a number of effective treatments, but you must be thorough.

Good luck.

Pretty sure if the wings are bigger than the body then rootaphids, if smaller than gnats.
Dawn dish soap worked for me, 15ml per gallon added to res after made. Just try not to agitate the surface after added as it will foam up

I’ve had gnat trouble. I know gnats and have been free of them for a while. Gnats have flat wings at rest and appear aimlessly out of control when flying.
Root Aphids seem more serious.
Im not in any trying to harm your plants. It does say you can pour neem in soil to get rid of furniture pest. It interrupts there feeding. Then the pest die out. im still researching root aphids I will do my best to get the facts for you it gives me learning more and facts. To help. One of my problems is having a helping heart. While standing very strong to those that make fun of or don’t like it. My wife does most of The research. I’ll hopefully get back to you soon with facts on them root aphids.
