Yes they are big black flies They look lotta different than the fungus gnats ..it's weird tho they come and go haven't seen any in the last hour ..and I do I sit there and look at my plants all day doing Pest Prevention lmao...ready to set up my tentIf you’re applying organic material I can see thats why, are u sure they are normal flies? get a good close up for bug Id confirmation
Oh shit Wtf that's the last thing I need...I thought it might of been because I hadn't sprayed anything in 2 days but damnAfter reading the reviews on Dr. Earth fertilizers, a lot of people mention that their bad smell tends to attract everything from insects to raccoons.
Yea I have a ton of beneficial hoverflies that just keep multiplying..there's like 15 of em out there on 3 plants right now..only thing is they don't seem to mess with the leafhoppersMany fertilizers and supplements smell like fish / cow / bird shit. Plus … many have urea based nitrogen sources.
Bugs will happen - both pest and beneficial.
Ok I have them below the medium wedged In my plant risers, still catch allt but I'll try aboveI even noitce from my yellow traps will also catch the regular flies , I use the traps mainly to look for fungus gnats but ethier way when I first top dress and FG aren’t present ill get a bunch of reg flies catched in those traps. ethier way I suggest if using organics as a good IPM and knowing ur pest pressure/population to have yellow traps ontop or on above the medium
