Are my plants growing slow for 15 days old

This is my first grow and i think my plants are growing slow. The strain is lowryder #2 and they're around 15 days old. My lighting is 1 x 65w cfl 2700k and 1 x 85w cfl 2700k. I've had my lights on 24/24. I'm growing in canna coco soil and using canna coco a+b nutes.

Wow mine are at 10 days from sprout and are WAY bigger than that. 10 26w cfls, miracle grow moisture control, and water. 24/7 lighting

I dunno, its my first grow, but possible issues: heat, water, nutrients?

I have grown a few lowryders, and they should be bigger then that, but they could get bigger. Seedlings don't need nutes. They will show you when they are hungry.. I mean if a newborn baby comes out of a pregnant woman you don't start feeding it a big mac right? haha

Anyways looks like the growth is just stunted due to either feeding, or heat, at least to me. What is the temp in there?

I fed them with their first dose of nutes today so hopefully they'll start developing nodes a lot faster in the next few days

Them poor Low-Ryder's... Is that the actual or equivalent wattage? Also, you never feed a seedling nutes yo!!! Nutes should be introduced 2-4 weeks after sprouting, and at like 1/4th concentrate! To start get like 4 26w 6500K cfl's, one over each plant just to start. How far away are your lights from them string beans? They need to be as close as possible without burning!

Ummm no! Your gonna need to almost start over, no nutes, water like 2 times a week preferably with good PH(you can let tap water sit out for 24hr/rain water), water them slow until it comes out the bottom. Actually them pots are way to big for them seedlings, they probably don't have much of if any roots. I think the most root development comes from the night cycle... during NAP time!!! Man I hope you can make the best of your start.... keep trying, absorb all info... read read read! oh yeah I have to plug this in...

first of all your using the wrong lights, second your using nutes and third there is no dark period.I have some plants that are 20 days from breaking the soil and are 5" with 4 true nodes, they are under a 250w 6500k cfl and 2 20w 6500kcfls.you use 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower,im not being horrible mate but you should really know that before you start growing with cfls.use a 18 on 6 off veg cycle and you should be ok,,GL

yo Higgins it is gonna seem like a broken record here in your thread, people need to learn read first reply second! Don't let criticism discourage you. I had the wrong color(2700K) for like 2 weeks at the start of my grow. Now I am kinda obsessed... :eyesmoke:

also you can grow in 24/0, 22/2, 20/4... whatever you want but remember, the plant is alive an just like most things that are alive need some form of a rest period! Our performance starts to degrade when we do not get adequate sleep. Good Luck

I know what you mean i think i'm just rushing into it,i'm gna get some blue spec cfl's and change light cycle to 18/6. I fed them extremely lightly with nutes so i just hope they don't burn. I thought it was because of using the wrong spectrum.

It very well could be one of the reasons, 6500k promotes faster over-all growth. So when ya get them, then we will see how the react. I bet(hope) they take off. If the stretch does not subside soon after the 6500k switch then ya might want to look into LST. That would allow you to grow the stretcher an get vertical node growth once it laid down.

get a couple inches from your plants with those cfl's. even 2700k's would've brought on more growth in that time had they been closer. the seedlings seem to have been stretching for the light.

The reason why they look stretchy is because i was just using a 65w cfl at first but a few days ago i put in an extra 85w cfl both are 2700k but i've just got 2 6500k 85w cfl's off ebay

really 65w an a 85w... is that the actual wattage? I asked that an many question an still no answers.... if that is the true wattage then somethin is up cause they should of put out enough lumens for them to have much more of a canopy. Does Ebay have a return policy for when your bulbs got out before the stated hours of use?

If I were you, I would try something other than cfl because with my experience with them, they just dont do the job. Dont get me wrong, I use a couple cfls myself but I also go with metal halide and tubes. My plants started growing very fast when I added the metal halide. You dont need to use nutes until the 3-5 weeks after germ. Water 3 times a week lightly and it should do the trick. Whatever you do, dont feed 100% You definately need to give them a dark period of atleast 6-8 hours. You should see results withtin a couple days.

Hey cransi that is the actual wattage not equivalent. I think i might be underwatering aswell. I don't think they do returns if the bulb goes out before the stated hours of use but that also depends on the seller i should imagine.

Why do people always do this? Come into the CFL forum an advice about MH/HID or something other than what this sub-category.... but whatever. Hey Budlover25, why do you recommend water lightly 3 times a week? When you water that way Bud, are you watering till it trickles out the bottom?

See I told you about the broken record that people continue because they care not to read the whole fuckin thread. Hey higgins could you get a few more pics of how the grow area is during lights on. Also one kinda down angle above your bulbs. If you can get equal amounts of wattage on your plants. It does add up...

This fella seems to be a bit on the touchy side,I did and have read the whole thread and can see no criticism here just help.I can understand the whole MH thing in a cfl thread, that gets to me also. But you have somebody who WAS trying to veg using 2700k,to me that is a basic schoolboy error, you dont need to ask questions to know this stuff. All im saying is,you have to expect it to sound like a broken record with an error so basic.
