Are autoflowering (C. Ruderalis) plants really as good as people make them out to be?

I dont really see the point of them either. well indoors anyway. I'm actually going to throw 10 ruderalis skunk and 10 ruderalis indica out in the wild come this next growing season just for experimentation purposes. I chose these strains as I live in a wet country and they are very hardy. Outdoor grows are unheard of here so if this works I may have a different opinion on C.Ruderalis in the future.

I'd really appreciate some clarification on how you clone autoflowers over and over without continually loosing growth, size, and yield each time. When you clone a plant that clone is as old as the parent it came from. If you let each clone root and grow a week before you take your next clone off it, would that not leave the new clone less time before it finishes each time until you run out of time ?

I don't get it.

Is their maturity, their time to flower somehow tied to their size rather than age?
Autoflowers are not suitable for cloning. Cloning is possible, but not recommended. Autos go straight to flower phase with virtually no veg phase at all. As such, autoflower life cycles are short enough to make cloning impractical.

Seeds are the recommended method of propagation.

This is actually a good thread :hump: I have grown LR AK47's and still do. I pollenated one entire plant and now have a shitload of seeds to keep me going for a while. I will tell you that they are fun, fast, short and down right fun to grow...BUT!!! They just dont measure up to normal strains when it comes to potency and taste. I almost ALWAYS have a female growing in my veg cab just to keep my stash box full and have stuff to share. Almost always 77 days from seed to scissors. 17th day males show and 20th day females show...its like freaking clockwork with the strain I have.

Im finishing up some LR2 and I liked em. I will prob try some other autos soon. They are fast an easy, require minimun maitnence and take up little room. If doing jus a couple prolly not worth it, but if you can do like 15+ yield is jus fine.
You figure if you do 5 reg. plants and get 3 oz of each or do 15 autos and get a oz per, then your getting about the same yield in less time.

I had a bag of sensi from the cannabis club right. It was a pretty low-end buy for the time and I picked atleast 15 seeds from an 8th. At the time I was in little under my first month of vegetative for my plants and I decided to throw one seed in there. To quicken up the process because I didn't wanna veg for too long, I topped both of the sensi plants. After maybe 1 month, the sensi plants started to flower. I haven't heard much about autoflowering strains but... Was this an autoflowering strain?

Yes they are. Some people have space restrictions, some people want to augment a crop, some people want weed fast. An autoflower hybrid plant has its place in the grow community, people who throw it to the side because its too small have different priorities than others....when it comes down to it, everything is preference.

I just got 20 auto dwarf seeds in a mix from joint doctor. The THC contents have increased dramatically over the last few years as stealth and quick turnaround have been priorities. They are now as potent as regular strains and stable. Im going to breed the shit out of the mix and just see what happens with the seeds I get out of them. This 45 week 8 foot tall plant shit is for the birds with regular strains....I could care less if it tastes like a hot strippers ass covered in french vanilla ice cream, I just wanna smoke sometime before I die!

I know your not cloning your lowryder plant because that is impossible, even for a experienced cloner like you claim to be.

i have an autoflowering plant i got from a friend i like that its buds on its own and the potentcy is pretty good i use a clone technique where you take a clone and as soon its it ready put it in an 8 gallon pot and you get at leaste 2 to 3 ounces a plant or more no veg material so you have to use the lower buds strip off some nodes .. not ideal i know but if ur good at cloning it isnt really a problem they grow really bush when you clone from buds lots of nodes just my 2 cents but down side is you cant keep a mother have to keep cloning clones and it sometimes takes a little longer to clone buds .. a while back i got some ak48 from nirvana out of all the seeds i ended up with 1 male so i powdered the shit out of one of the autoflowering clones hopfully it will make some nice seeds wonder if they will have autoflowering trait

well i am just stating facts and am starting a journal to try and prove it not saying its low rider but it is 100% autoflowering . true the plant is always flowering but i notice once you replant them the budding is stunted and it starts veging i noticed the pot size make the diffrence when the budding really take off if you plant straight into 16 oz cups they pretty much do start budding right away i notice putting them into 8 gallon pots from the start they seem to veg longer and get bigger and bushier then at about 2 months after roots take they start flowering for another 2 months and about 3 oz a plant i have some pics of the last couple of grows when they where clones to close to finish time in my album

If they go into a veg state, they are NOT autoflowers. You may just have a naturally smaller strain, but if it veg's at any time, it is not an autoflower anymore. More than likely if you are breeding them, the autoflower traits are being lost in the mix.

does anyone know the thc content for several autoflowering strains? im thinking of going auto after the top 44.

Are there any that are truly impresive? i plan to have around 8 auto plants at various stages of development, that way i can have a harvest like every 7 - 10 days!!!

this is my girst go round with autoflowering strains and i fucking love em!! check the grow out in my sig..i mean, you can't beat how fast they grow and some of them are really potent, beautiful plants! diesel ryder for instance is a phenomenal strain, doesn't have huge yields, although i have seen 2 ozs per plant in hydro and 1 oz per in soil. i'm gonna try some outdoors in about a month. and tell me this isn't something you'd want to grow...enjoy

Apromimately how tall did the diesel ryders get?? Could you fit a load of em in a small space??
yeah you could ,my space is pretty small..there are a couple different pheno's, some grow taller than others, but my tallest is proably 2.5 feet tall.
