Are 315 CMH lights worth it?

Is it weird that I've actually been considering wrapping her with xmas lights, putting a tree skirt around the rez and putting some presents under the tree for one my final shoots?
Make a hell of a Christmas card, or the cover of High Times. I guess I'm weird also then, I think it would be great

Hi merry Christmas everybody.

Simply looking for exhortation on new lights.

I was only inquisitive on your considerations around a 315 CMH light.

I develop cars and possibly a 2 photographs at once, I become only for a side interest.

Are these lights justified, despite all the trouble?

In my humble opinion, yes they are worth it.
Run two Nanolux 315W in a 4x4 and my last few grows have been, 4 plant, 26.5 zips, 4 plant, 23.5 zips and single plant, 18.5 zips, all smokable buds.

Again this is just my opinion.

In a word... yes.

Replaces a 600w MH/HPS system with less heat and lower power use, without sacrificing the nugs formed by HID lighting.

I have read that the 315W could be the equivalent of a 500W HPS, have not heard 600.
From my experience I would say it is better than a 400 and not as good as a 600. Now that being said there or other factors to consider, a 600 is true watt, the 315 gives you say the equivalent of 500. So the power saving is substantial. With two 315's I get say 1000W's at 615 watts of power. Two 6's are 1200W of true power, and the wattage equivalent is damn close. Second to me is the heat, the 315 is much cooler.
Just some things to consider.

yea theres some "give or take" there, mostly cuz the common HID ballasts are 400, 600, and 1000........ not 500...

Yes but I said equivelent to 500, if you can get that from a 315 then to me it is better than the 600W HPS mainly in power savings.
I have grown with a 400W HPS but not a 600 so these are just my thoughts. I know for damn sure it is much better than the 400.

Simplest terms, it will veg as well as a 600MH, and flower better than the 400HPS

I have replaced 2 600w and a 400w system within the last 2yrs, and am planning to go DE CMH to replace my HPS system (2k, 3k if I am squeezing bubble buckets on the end)

This should allow me to use my existing icebox and chiller to maintain air temps, so I can seal the room, and pump the bitch full of CO2..... hoping by the end of 2019 to have accomplished all this... last 6 months has been a dead zone due to a war with spider mites... Thank Bayer for Forbid....

to be honest I don't really have a budget although I did spend a knot on 8x8 room construction
That's a good size space if you go with 315 cmh you need 9 fixtures or 4 fixtures with the hlg550...there are diy options but that's many hours more research for you. Does your budget allow for $4k-$5k in lights?

I will not be using the whole space at this time, im going to split it in half for now, I would like to learn how to put boards together myself for future knowledge

If your in no rush to start growing start doing some diy led. get 1 315cmh 1 600 hps to start in the half an build led for the other half then you learn everything first hand! And you don't have to spend so much.

Edit: watch as many YouTube videos as you can about led. Growmau5 is a good place to start his old videos are about cobs but it give pretty good electrical info and explains the drivers
