Aquarium Chiller for Hydroponic Reservoir in warmer Day's???

What you think it's Best for warmer Day's to control the Temperature in the Reservoir for not getting Root Root i belive a Chiller is nessesary in Warmer Day's they coming but maybe there is another option too? The Chiller don't need to run 24 Hours a day maybe time the Chiller couple times a Day for Cooling the Water down bevore watering.


What you think guys?

IMHO a chiller is an absolute necessity. This can vary depending on where you live but I live in a hot, humid environment most of the year. I used to play the frozen water bottle game . . . NEVER again! I have other concerns that need addressing so why worry about how res temps may/may not affect your plants? Just buy a chiller and grow with confidence. I also like that my res temps stay a constant 65 degrees. It's a set-it-and-forget-it scenario that adds a lot of peace of mind!

Are you running your nute solution through your chiller or are you cooling with a coil?

The classic thing we did back in the day was buying a water-cooler with tap or a cheap small dehumidifier, and separate the hot and cold element.

Bending the cold one down in a bucket and in that a pump on a loop with brewer coil that's going down in the reservoir. Then you put the dehumidifier on a thermostat and put the probe in the reservoir. We got all the ideas from the Brewers cooling wort back then!

There are quite a few out there still still doing it that’s for sure.
