Aqua Globes?

I was at lowes today and saw these things called aqua globes. There glass water containers that you stick in your pot and it slowly let's out water for about 2 weeks.
I'm about to grow outdoors this summer and this looks very handy. Would this work or would it be better to just use a 2 liter bottle with a tiny hole

I also realized if I used an aqua globe Id have to put in my nutrients another way.

I don't know if they would let the plant dry out enough. I remember reading on here a while ago about someone who tried using one and it kept the soil too wet.

yeah, i dont think they would work well for this type of plants. I think it will make your soil to moist. which will lead to bug an fungus maybe even mold. I wouldnt use it but just keep a close eye on them if you do. maybe try it on one not so important one so if it dies no big deal.

I have been using Aqua Globes for a few weeks now and have found them to be a huge success! Once I got past how to fill the globes with water and my nutrient mix I was on easy street. It takes a little bit for the ground to condition to the correct wetness for the globes to work right but that only takes a week or so. My fungus gnat population is dying off and that's a big win in itself. My big sativa "Girls" love the globes because now they are getting the proper amount of water and they are showing the love by forming some really nice large colas. I am looking what will be my largest harvest to date very soon.

I used a couple for 2 week vacation. Flushed them then put the globes in. 2 x12" plants.
