Don't plant directly under the tree.

First usually not enough light gets to the plant.

Second you don't want falling apples hitting your baby!

Last don't forget about the bugs, they'll eat the shit out of your plants.

Oh i usually wear an old sock around for a few days, let it get good and stinky, and tie strips of it near your plants........The deer will stay far away!!
I dont have deer here. But bugs got a few of those.

by the sounds of this thread some people here want to use my socks lol

i had some under/by a apple tree and fejoa tree last year they did fine. and watch out for thouse opossums by the way where im from they love the shit (your plant) set some traps/poison out now to be safe

I have some time, I am just going to flower them outside so I can start another batch. But I have some clearing to get done first. I got a little canopy cover I need to remove.
