my first grow was in an apt, with two full plants my whole apt reaked, i went through fabreez air freshner spray like it was going out of style. totally freaked the fuck out about it , only reason maintenance didn't come into my place every month to change the filters is because i made it very clear to the managers that i hold my privacy very dearly and that because i had been a resident for over a year with out ever giving them a late payment and never causing any complaints they left me alone, but i still was very sketched out about it.

we're doing an apt grow right now. we put a lock on the outside of the spare bedroom door and when the term guy came to spray a few days ago we locked it up and told him not to spray in there and he was totally cool with skipping that room. so far (knocks on wood) we haven't had any problems. My landlord used to smoke and would bring me joints. haha the good ol' days. i wish she would start back up.

Locks on doors look too suspicious, if your home when they come, just tell them your dog is in that room and he's not friendly. I use the "dont go in there my pittbull is in there and he's not very friendly around new people" trick. It works well for me and I have a maid that comes every wednesday and terminix every month, no eyebrows getn raised about my grow room.

we cant use the dog trick because they don't allow dogs here. my wife is a sound engineer and we tell them that we keep her expensive sound board and shit in that room..we lock it up to keep the cats from going in there and climbing on the shit. the door's actual lock doesn't work and the door doesn't stay shut and the cats could get in there. so the lock doesn't look too bad here. dude whatever you do dont tell anyone about it except us ofcourse.

I'm not saying I know anything about all the laws everywhere...BUT...you should all look into your tenanncy act's...i'm pretty sure that if there is something that they need to come in and fix...they're not allowed to be snooping around where there needs no fixing, at least here it's the law.

I guess if you take the precautions an apt grow is fine My first two grows were done in an apt.

just remember dont have a set up if you cant take it done in the matter of minutes best advice I ever recieved is that right there

Could always use a normal bathroom type lock with the little hole and you key to the room is just a paper clip.
Well, that will stop anybody without a paper clip, but what if someone that has one (I'm looking at you, Richard Dean Anderson) happens upon it.

For the same price you can get a door knob with key lock, it will at least stop people without lockpicks (that includes most repair guys). They don't stand out and in my experience, get the job done.

on a lawful p.o.v.... Wouldn't growing in an apartment be safer in terms of consequence. as far as repossesion goes? can't really take shit that's isn't yours.

BTW
renting is for suckers.

no its cool bonz, yea anybody can break down a dead bolted door but only if you give reason too. I figured if any suspicion rose i could easily say theres expensive broadcast equipment in there and i have to keep it locked cuz its not exactly a safe complex. That could work maybe?
Well you have to consider safety in two terms:

Safety against being caught VS. Safety of suspicion. Both are disastrous, but being caught is obviously worse.

Why not have a NORMAL bedroom lock? Same security against unforced entry, and 0 suspiciousness. Just think of making your place look natural whilst preserving your boundaries. You don't ever have to explain yourself to some apartment air filter replace man. You don't even need to explain yourself to a suspicious police officer for crying out loud!

Yea im just going to put a lock on my closet door and keep that spare bedroom shut. Im paranoid ever since blackcoupe said they can picked so, i work in the broadcasting business and i got the hook up on small cameras. so ill just put one the room. Plus the management at my apartments are dum asses and dont care about much anyways, i mean theres 10 mexicans living right below me in a 2 bedroom!!

Good luck with the grow. The only problem I would worry about is the smell. Once mine started flowering, my entire house smelled like weed. A carbon filter and many open windows later, the house is back to normal but not the grow room. I have 3 plants in a closet in an average size bedroom, and every time I open the door it's the stinkiest of the stinky. Hope this helps!!!:blsmoke:
