Have a 9,500 gal. koi pong. Month and half old. 10 foot or longer Koi, probaly 30 babies, 2 sucker fish. No plants yet. Using 2 bio filters, one in a full size pool pump and filter. other in a 1000,gal an hour sub. pump. Get sun most of the day.

Algae out the ying yang. Cant see half an inch down.

What heck do I need to do?
I'm thinking there is wayyyyy to much Nitrogen. Water plants may help to suck up some of it? Also have been looking in to UV Stabilizer.
Any help would be really helpful thanks!!!

First off where are you? Most of the time I would recommend a UV filter off the bat. Second get some of those straw mats, they will clear up the alge in the short term but that is only fixing the symptom and not the disease.

Best thing to use is an algae control chemical, they have them meant for koi ponds.

Only killed it for 2.5 days. Came back as fast as it went. I'm looking for plans for a diy UV Stabilizer.
